How much does an 80 liter boiler weigh? Choosing a water heater: between storage and flow solution

Now a lot of houses (both private and multi-apartment) are made of aerated concrete. This technology has many undoubted advantages, for example, it is light, breathable, warm. However, at first glance, it is not so durable; indeed, it can be cut with an ordinary saw. It's soft and crumbles easily! This is what scares, for example, is it possible to hang (fix) something on such a wall, say a boiler (in our opinion, a water heater), I mean a storage, not a flow option. After all, in order to take a shower normally, you need to take at least 50 liters, but will the wall withstand it? Actually, there will be another article about this + a video version at the end. So let's read and watch...

Water is becoming more expensive, so in order to save on it, it is often beneficial to hang a boiler. However, if on brick wall, as well as on concrete (slabs) you can hang without any special fears, both materials are very durable. That is an aerated concrete wall, it cannot always withstand such a weight, there are many cases on the network when a seemingly not even heavy water heater of 30-50 liters fell, tearing pieces out of the wall! So what to do, you can hang or not?

How much does a water heater weigh

Many mistakenly think that the water heater weighs "at face value." That is, if you took, say, 50 liters, then the total weight is about 50 kilograms! But this is extremely wrong, the weight of the water heater itself is also not small. I will give approximate weights by points:

  • 30 liters on average, only the water heater itself will weigh about 13 - 15 kg
  • 50l - 17 - 20 kilograms
  • 80l - 22 - 24kg
  • 100l - 24 - 26kg
  • 120l - 26 - 30kg
  • 150l - about 35kg
  • 200l - about 57kg
  • 300l - about 74kg

Of course, a lot depends on the manufacturer - what thickness of steel he used (as well as what material - ordinary steel or stainless steel), how much insulation he put in, how much the plastic tank weighs, how much electronic filling. BUT on average, the weight of the water heater is just that.

That is, if you summarize a little, it turns out - a boiler for 50 liters (20 kg) + water in it is another 50 kg, thus - total weight will be about 70kg .

We disassemble aerated concrete

Despite the apparent softness of the aerated concrete material (it can really be cut with a hacksaw), it can withstand fairly large loads. However, not all manufacturers make the same material. What I mean is that before you calculate how much weight the wall can support, you need to know the density of your aerated concrete. It is also different, and the withstand load will depend on this.

The minimum density that I myself have seen is 300 kg/m3. Such blocks are mainly taken for private houses and small buildings up to two floors.

The average density is 400 kg / m3, with such blocks it is possible to build houses up to three floors without any reinforcement.

The maximum density is 500 kg / m3, such material can be used up to 4 floors, without any reinforcement. That is, the blocks themselves are made as load-bearing walls.

Of course, perhaps the density is even higher, but I personally have not had to deal with this.

Guys, there are two types of load, this is the so-called- to put it bluntly, if you hang the heater to the ceiling, screw the bolts into the ceiling, then the boiler will try to pull them out.

, this is when the bolts are twisted into the wall, and the boiler tries to break or cut them, as it were. The length is not so important here (although it should be sufficient), the density of the material is important here, as well as the thickness of the fasteners - bolts.

Often, boilers are hung on capital, street or driveway walls. Their thickness is at least 25 cm (250 mm), and street walls can vary from 400 to 500 mm (almost half a meter). ON THIN WALLS FROM WHICH PARTITIONS ARE MADE, HANGING A BOILER - IS NOT RECOMMENDED ESPECIALLY LARGE CAPACITY! Partition walls are often only 10 cm thick, they cannot support a lot of weight, and they really collapse.

About the shear load and density, I will take walls with a thickness of 25 cm, as well as one bolt with a diameter of 8 mm:

300 kg/m3 - withstands 50 kg

400 kg/m3 - about 70 kg

500 kg/m3 - about 90 kg

I have been looking for such information for a long time on various manufacturers' websites, maybe it is not entirely accurate, but here I indicated with a margin. On one resource of the manufacturer, it was said that a density of 300 kg / m3, if a bolt with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 100 mm is screwed into it, can generally withstand about 100 kg of shear load!

That is, if you hang a water heater of 50 liters (and as we calculated from above it is about 70 kg), they usually hang it on 2 or 4 bolts, then even a wall with a density of 300 kg / m3 will withstand it EASILY! Indeed, in the version with 2 bolts, the withstand load on the cut will be about 100 kg, and with 4 bolts, 200 kg! If the density is taken at 400 - 500 kg / m3, then the withstand load is much greater, so a wall of 500 (4 bolts) can withstand up to 400 kg.

My version

I hung it on a load-bearing wall of 50 cm, with a density of 400 - 500 kg / m3, the manufacturer indicates so on his website. True, I have a 120 liter boiler, and it also weighs about 25 kg, that is, it is necessary to withstand a total weight of 145 - 150 kg. True, 4 bolts are used for fastening, big weights already from 80kg, 4 fasteners are used!

What I bought are special dowel nails for aerated concrete, they look like special screws (they have protruding parts on the sides). A hole is drilled and it is hammered in there, and the side parts, as it were, cut “slots” in aerated concrete, this allows the dowel to sit firmly enough.

What else was done - I bought a dowel with a size of 10 X 70mm (there was simply no larger size), and I bought "plumbing bolts" with large washers, 8 X 100mm. Why did the bolt take longer? I read on one forum that such a combination gives even greater strength to the fastening, the bolt passes through the dowel, and at the end, when it cuts through it, it presses the tail parts of the plastic even more strongly!

Actually, I took the dimensions from the water heater, drilled 4 holes 10 X 130 mm, hammered the dowels there and screwed in the “plumbing bolts”. After I hung the boiler and fixed it empty on the wall, VERY STRONGLY!

Then we turn on the water and observe, of course, I was a little worried, but everything is fine. ON 4 bolts, the boiler with a total weight of 145 - 150 kg, holds up perfectly, has been weighing for 4 months now, so you can hang it on aerated concrete! The main thing is to be smart! You can not hang on the walls of aerated concrete 10 cm (interior), water heaters more than 30 kg - THIS IS DANGEROUS!

Now the video version of the article, we are watching.

I end here, I think my article was useful to you, read our construction site.

In many regions, this has long become a habit. If there is no hot water all summer or even for several weeks, the solution is obvious. You need to buy a boiler. An electric water heater provides additional comfort and allows you not to depend on the public hot water systems.

The boiler maintains the required water temperature, while having a certain supply of it. There is a large selection of boilers on the Ukrainian market. But in order to choose the right boiler, you need to take into account many nuances.

What is a boiler

The water heater itself is a tank in which cold water heated to a predetermined temperature using an electric heating element - heating element.

There are two types of heating element: wet heating element - immersed in water, dry heating element - has no contact with water. Experts believe that the second option is better than the first, since scale does not form on it, which means it will last longer. Dry heating element is located in special flasks and does not come into direct contact with water. Usually dry heating is recommended to be used when the water contains a lot of salts. In this case, the wet heating element will fail much earlier.

The type of heating element is not the only thing that affects how much a boiler costs. Dry heating element will cost more than wet heating element. There are other parameters, due to which the price difference for different types of boiler reaches several thousand hryvnias.

The boiler is round and rectangular, narrow and wide. Basically, rectangular models are more convenient. Narrow boiler - suitable for a niche or cabinet. In this case, a narrow boiler can be both rectangular and oval-round. Before you buy a boiler, you need to figure out where you will install it. Depending on this, you have to make a choice of a boiler.

How does a boiler work

Once in the tank, the water is heated to a predetermined temperature, after which the thermostat turns off the heater. The desired temperature can be set. In the most inexpensive and simple models, the exact value in degrees is not set on the panel - they are limited to symbolic images, meaning gradation from "cold" to "hot". If the boiler is more expensive, then often electronic system control already allows you to set the temperature with an accuracy of 1-2 degrees. Devices with the ability to program the heating temperature depending on the time will cost even more.

If you have not used water for a long time, for example, you have left for several days, and the boiler has not been turned off, then it will automatically heat the water when the temperature drops. So that the boiler does not work independently and there is no unnecessary consumption of electricity, it is better to turn off the water heater before leaving.

If the water cools down completely during your absence, then when you turn on the boiler, it will heat up for a couple of hours. The volume of the water heater also plays an important role here.

Volume and good wiring is an important point to consider before installing the boiler. Often, when choosing the volume of a water heater, they start from the number of people living in the living space.

The volumes of boilers vary from 10 liters (the smallest), they are often installed in the kitchen to wash dishes - up to 120. Boiler with a capacity of 1.5 - 2 kW - these are the models most often bought by Ukrainians, given that many high-rise buildings do not have very reliable power supply system. A boiler with a capacity of 1.5 kW and a volume of 80 liters will heat cold water in 3 hours. A 2 kW boiler will heat 80 liters in 2 hours. A tank of 50 liters will be heated by a 2 kV boiler in 1 hour.

Returning to the price: the larger the volume of the tank, the more expensive the boiler. Hence the question, do you need a boiler with a tank capacity of 120 liters if you live together?

There are models in which two heating elements are installed. This is a kind of insurance, in situations where there are problems with the use of significant power of electricity while the boiler is operating and, for example, washing machine or heater. The inclusion of another powerful consumer can lead to the shutdown of the circuit breaker. In order not to knock out traffic jams, due to high load, you can turn on the boiler to an economical mode when one heating element is working. The water will heat up slowly, but there will be no overload.

Installation

Theoretically, it is correct to install the boiler - connect to the mains and connect to water pipe- you can do it yourself. But it is better to consult a specialist. At the same time, it often happens that the person who bought the boiler has the right to warranty service and free installation. The first thing to determine is the location for the boiler. Most often, it is installed on the wall of the bathroom or toilet. But here the weight of the device is of great importance - after all, even an empty boiler often weighs about 25 kg. Add to this 50, 80 or even 120 kg of water. It is important to know that not every inner wall support the weight of the boiler. When installing a water heater, it is advisable to use special steel anchors.

To properly install the boiler, professionals advise installing a separate outlet. After all, usually the outlet is designed for a voltage of 220 V and a current of 10 A. If we multiply these values, we get 2,200 W or 2.2 kW: this is the output of a standard outlet. There are also sockets for 16 A, their output can reach 3,520 W or 3.5 kW. If a 10-amp socket - in this case, we can talk about the allowable power of about 2 kW. Hence the approximately equal power of the heating element in the boiler, whether it is 50 or 150 liters.

Installation costs about 600 UAH - plus 300-500 UAH for consumables.

  • 15-20-liter boiler without water 10-13 kg, add the weight of water (15-20 kg) and the output is 25-30 kg load on the wall;
  • a 50 l boiler weighs 17-20 kg empty and about 70 kg full;
  • an 80 liter model weighing 20-22 kg may well give 100 kg of additional load on the wall when fully filled with water;
  • larger models with a volume of 120-150 l provide an even greater load - up to 150-180 kg.

If you have opted for a 100-liter boiler or more, it is better to provide floor support for it. It can be a rack, supports, a locker with stops. Due to this support, most of the load will go to the stand, which will provide insurance to the fasteners.

Self installation

First of all, you need to read the instructions. The installation of a water heater is always described there. Then, you need to put a safety valve. This valve is installed on the cold water supply line (where cold water enters the boiler), cuts off the water supply when the boiler is filled and relieves excess pressure when the water boils, which saves the boiler from explosion.

The installation of the valve is mandatory; during the operation of the boiler, it may drip a little - this is the normal mode of operation. Carefully monitor the valve, clean its moving part from dirt and scale. This is the basis for the safety of the entire boiler system.

Be sure to pay attention to the electrical connection of the boiler. Perhaps in old apartment you will even have to shift the wiring from the meter to the boiler outlet. The boiler wire itself in 99% of cases should be 3-core - taking into account grounding, which also needs to be checked in the outlet.

If you have old wiring and you are not sure about it, then it would be better to invite an electrician to make a separate line for the water heater or replace the wiring completely.

Problems in use

The boiler works on the principle of an electric kettle. That is, it tends to suffer from scale on the heating element. In Ukraine, hard water flows in taps, and this greatly reduces the life of the device. To combat this problem, softening filters are often installed.

Another problem with boilers is corrosion. To combat it, corrosion protection in the form of a magnesium anode rod is used. Such a rod takes all the impact on itself, gradually collapsing.

Each boiler is provided with an “anti-corrosion anode”. This anode serves as a “magnet” for rust and active chemical elements, thus it protects the boiler tank and must be replaced after 1-2 years and, in fact, is consumable. Together with the replacement of the anode, it is desirable to clean the heating element from scale, flush the boiler tank. But even so, in order for the water heater to last longer, it is necessary every six months to invite a master who can assess the condition of the anode rod and heating element and clean them.

Sometimes the master decides to replace the heater. This service is relatively inexpensive, within 300-350 UAH. When compared to buying a new boiler, it is much cheaper. Often, having bought a water heater, people do not think that they need preventive maintenance and maintenance. This saves both money and time. After all, buying a new boiler costs a pretty penny.

Storage water heaters have become an excellent way to solve the problem of lack of hot water supply. They are installed not only in private houses, but also in apartments, where there are often problems with the supply of hot water (especially in the summer, when the tracks are being repaired). The best purchase for a family of two or three people will be an 80-liter storage water heater. This amount is enough for all household members. And in this review we will consider the most popular models of boilers of the specified capacity.

Popular models of water heaters

Storage boilers with a volume of 80 liters are fairly common water heating equipment. They are optimal for a family of two - you can easily take a shower one after another, as well as arrange dishwashing at the same time as shower procedures. They are also suitable for those who live together. Of course, with such a number of people, a 100-liter water heater will be optimal, but you can get by with an 80-liter boiler - especially if the third person is a child who does not consume much water.

As for taking a bath, for this procedure you will need a water heater not for 80, but for at least 100 liters - and this is enough for only one person.

In plumbing and heating stores, we can buy boilers from the most different manufacturers. Their main differences:

  • The material for the manufacture of tanks - stainless steel tanks are in the lead here;
  • Number of heating elements - there are modifications with two heating elements that provide quick heating of water;
  • Mounting method - vertical or horizontal;
  • Management - electronic or mechanical;
  • The maximum temperature varies from +60 to +90 degrees.

Let's see what we can choose from in stores.

Before us is the best storage electric water heater with a volume of 80 liters. He received top marks users, becoming the leader of our review. The unit is made in a vertical flat case and is equipped with a productive heating element with a power of 2.5 kW. Several points of water intake are connected to it at once, and in order for consumers not to have to wait long, the device was endowed with the function of rapid heating of water. Other advantages of the water heater:

  • Stainless steel tank of 80 liters - it is resistant to corrosion;
  • Pressure resistance up to 7 atmospheres;
  • Electronic control with information display;
  • Magnesium anode for additional protection from corrosion;
  • Great case design.

An 80-liter boiler from Polaris does not look “pot-bellied”, taking up a minimum of space in the room where it is installed. As for users, their opinion agrees that this is the most reliable water heater that does its job for five plus.

The price for this model may seem a little high, but it's worth it - you will not spend almost 13 thousand rubles in vain.

If you need an 80-liter storage electric water heater from a good brand, we recommend that you take a closer look at this model. Due to the flat body, the boiler can be installed in any room, where it will look extremely neat, without conspicuous. The power of the heating element used is 2.5 kW, the tank is made of steel coated with reliable and durable glass ceramics. The unit is mounted vertically, connecting pipes approach it from below.

The control system in this 80-liter water heater is mechanical, the temperature controller, along with the on indicators, is placed on the front panel. There is a magnesium anode inside to protect against corrosion. The boiler received good reviews from already established users, although some complain about the rather weak metal of the tank. However, this may be due to a single marriage.

The cost of this water heater for 80 liters is about 13.5 thousand rubles - the influence of the brand affects.

Electric boilers of 80 liters can be mounted not only vertically, but also horizontally, right under the ceiling. Their typical representative is the horizontal flat model Polaris FDRS-80H. Consider its main characteristics and features:

  • Easy temperature control with the front panel knob;
  • Electronic indication of the current temperature mode;
  • Maximum temperature - up to +75 degrees;
  • Built-in magnesium anode for corrosion protection;
  • Power consumption - 2 kW;
  • Mechanical control system;
  • Built-in safety valve;
  • Reliable copper heating elements - 2 pcs;
  • Bottom piping.

An excellent boiler with convenient fasteners and heating elements of increased reliability. The cost of the unit is about 14 thousand rubles.

If there is very little money in your pocket, and hot water is desperately needed, we recommend choosing and installing an inexpensive water heater for 80 liters Oasis VC-80L in your home. It is made in a traditional cylindrical case, painted white. A heating element with a capacity of only 1.5 kW is responsible for heating the water to the set temperature - this is not enough, so the water will heat up a little longer than in the models described above. The maximum heating temperature is up to +75 degrees.

The estimated cost of this water heater for 80 liters is a little more than 6 thousand rubles, which makes it one of the most affordable. But for such cheapness, you will have to pay for far from the most reliable coating of the inner tank - here it is made of enamel, but the same magnesium anode comes to its aid (you will have to change it a little more often). No special features or interesting features the handset does not have one – this is a typical budget model for economical users.

Flat electric storage water heater 80 liters from trademark Timberk will appeal to those who are not used to saving on household appliances. The unit is characterized by a good appearance and not the thickest case - its thickness is only 27 cm. It is equipped with a check and safety valves, an overheat protection system, a magnesium anode and a stainless steel tank.

Water heater Timberk SWH FSM4 80 H with a capacity of 80 liters can operate in several modes, providing economical energy consumption. Its main feature is the uniform heating of water throughout the volume. Responsible for heating is a hardy and corrosion-resistant copper heating element. In addition to the stainless steel tank, an additional measure of corrosion protection is built into the boiler - this is an oversized magnesium anode.

The cost of a storage water heater of 80 liters from Timberk bites a little - you will have to pay almost 20 thousand rubles for it. Reviews about the model are extremely positive.

Simple, reliable and not the most expensive - this is how you can briefly characterize this model. The water heater holds 80 liters, heating water to a temperature of +75 degrees, and it is regulated at your discretion. The warm-up time is 185 minutes (up to the maximum temperature mark). The design already provides for two valves - a check valve and a safety valve. The ubiquitous magnesium anode is responsible for corrosion protection.

The water heater tank is made of ordinary enameled steel - far from the best reliable option, but there were no special complaints from users. But it has copper heating elements, which are distinguished by increased reliability. The number of heating elements is 2 pieces, which provides more uniform heating. The maximum water pressure in the tank is 6 atmospheres. The device itself is made in a rounded rectangular case, and somewhat "pot-bellied".

If you want to buy an inexpensive water heater for 80 liters from some well-known manufacturer, we recommend that you take a closer look at this model. Literally for 6.5-7 thousand rubles you get a boiler that will give you the required amount of hot water around the clock. The device is made in a traditional "barrel-shaped" case, covered with white enamel. The inner tank is also covered with enamel, but already protective. Features and characteristics of the model:

  • Simple mechanical control;
  • Pressure in the tank - up to 8 atmospheres;
  • Built-in mechanical thermometer;
  • Power - 1.5 kW;
  • RCD included.

Also, the water heater is endowed with a built-in safety valve. The maximum water heating temperature is +75 degrees, 80 liters of water warm up in almost 4 hours.

Before us is another interesting water heater with a tank of 80 liters, made in a rounded rectangular case, covered with traditional white enamel. A feature of the unit is the use of dry heating elements. They are more reliable, since the heater itself is isolated from water by a metal tube. The power of the heating elements used is 0.8 and 1.2 kW (2 kW in total). The time for heating water to the maximum temperature (it is +75 degrees) is 184 minutes.

Despite the rather decent cost of almost 13 thousand rubles, the water heater is built on the basis of a steel tank with enamel protective coating. But the steel itself is very strong, it resists corrosion well. And the magnesium anode, which has become familiar, helps her in this. The boiler is controlled by a mechanical control system and can be mounted both vertically and horizontally.

This water heater is very popular, it is often found in shop windows. With a capacity of 80 liters of water, it heats it up in about 3.5 hours. The tank of the unit is made of stainless steel, which indicates almost 100% corrosion resistance. The power of the heating element used is 2 kW, it is possible to reduce it in steps to 1.3 kW. The control here is electronic, there is a display showing the reached temperature. Check and safety valves are already provided on board.

The water heater is designed for vertical mounting with bottom connection. It will be the best purchase for both the house and the apartment. It is easy to operate, has a long service life, and the reliability of its internal tank, which holds 80 liters tap water, there is no doubt - it will last a long time and without leaks. The cost of the model in the domestic market is approximately 13-13.5 thousand rubles.

Before us is a fairly advanced water heater, designed for all the same 80 liters of water. He has good technical specifications, only the absence of a stainless steel tank upsets - here it is made of ordinary steel and covered with protective enamel. Magnesium anode is responsible for corrosion resistance. Interesting features of the model:

  • The maximum heating temperature is +85 degrees - this is a noticeably higher figure than in other water heaters;
  • Dry heating element - it is resistant to corrosion and does not form a noticeable amount of scale. Its power is 1.8 kW;
  • Built-in frost protection – relevant for country houses used extremely rarely, for example, for weekend living or for rent;

Rising prices for hot water gave impetus to the development of the industry of water heaters. They are also bought for summer cottages, country house, that is, where people are not permanently located, but want to make this stay the most comfortable by connecting an independent and uninterrupted source of water heating. Electrical installations storage type are called boilers. Below we will consider the main aspects that are important to pay attention to when buying and using water heaters. The rating, which is built on the basis of live customer reviews, will help you understand the model range and popularity. The reader will be able to make sense of the myriad of products of this type by taking a closer look at the best boilers.

When choosing, you need to pay attention to such features as:

  • tank size - can be from 10 liters to 300. But, as practice shows, the most popular boiler-type heaters with a volume of 50, 80 and 100 liters
  • power. The larger the number in this paragraph, the faster the device will warm the water and, of course, the greater the energy consumption.
  • heating element. Inside there may be a heating element or a spiral. The difference is that the former are somewhat more expensive, the latter have to be changed more often.
  • anti-corrosion anode. This is an element that, if necessary, independently eliminates small cracks in the tank
  • electrical protection. There are device safety standards, the manufacturer must take care of their provision in reality.

Every year, with the onset of the summer season, most multi-storey buildings are left without hot water. The event, for example, is not the most pleasant for apartment residents, since it complicates many household tasks. A compact storage water heater of 80 liters vertical flat or any other boiler that can be connected to the water supply and receive hot water at any time of the day or night will help solve this problem.

Varieties of aggregates

The most popular are 80 liter flat boilers with a storage type of heating. They are divided into categories based on the power of the unit, shape, type of installation. Most devices are able to respond to a sudden change in temperature and help maintain the setpoint at an automatic level.

Design

Storage devices are similar to a thermos in terms of heat preservation, they also maintain an elevated temperature at the same level for a long time due to the heat-insulating layer. That is why the boiler is considered less energy-intensive.

In addition to the accumulative type of equipment, there are also flow-through installations, the work of which is to heat the liquid at the time of its circulation through the pipeline with heat-heating elements and combined, they combine two options - accumulation in the tank and simultaneous heating of the incoming water.

The storage water heater 80 liters vertical flat has small dimensions, due to which accelerated heating occurs compared to barrel-shaped units. In addition, flat water heating technology is very simple in design and easy to install. The shape of the boiler allows you to place the device not only directly on the wall with open space, but also to hide it in a hinged furniture set.

Storage water heater 80 l can operate from different types energy:

  • natural fuel;
  • liquefied gas;
  • electricity.

How does the device work?

Regardless of which appearance has a boiler of 80 l, all storage water heaters operate according to the following principle:

  • Water passes through the domestic water supply system and enters a tank made of titanium material.
  • AT this moment the heating installation automatically turns on, the temperature regime of the coil increases, along with it the water gradually heats up.
  • When the required temperature is reached, the heating element is turned off by the thermostat. Regular monitoring of the temperature regime can significantly reduce the cost of electricity, avoid damage due to overheating of the device.
  • The heated water after the tank follows the flow pipe and flows through the mixer or shower to the consumer.

Each modification differs in such indicators as the speed of filling the tank with liquid, the time interval for heating to the maximum value. However, regardless of the indicators specified in the instructions for the 80 liter water heater, the operation of the unit remains unchanged.

Pros and cons

Most electric boilers are expensive, but this factor is offset by the fact that the property owner does not have to overpay for high-temperature water from a centralized water supply, which is much more expensive in terms of costs. Only goes to the expense plain water, electricity.

In addition, the storage water heater 80 liters vertical flat has the following advantages:

  • Small dimensions

Despite the large volume of 80 liters, a flat boiler requires much less space to install than competing brands of rounded shapes. This allows mounting directly on the surface of walls, floors. Modifications with a flat shape are considered best solution the issue of hot water supply in apartments with small sizes.

Most of the flat models of 80 liters have a thickness of up to 35 cm, which is very convenient for installation in small bathrooms

  • stable temperature regime

The storage water heater 80 l works on the principle of a thermos, regularly maintaining the desired temperature by means of thermostat control. The hot liquid cools down at a slower rate, which means that the user does not need to constantly turn on the water heating tank to perform household tasks.

  • Quick connection

Electric models do not require the execution of relevant documents, as is required in gas flow modifications, which significantly reduces time and money.

Before you buy a device, you should pay attention to its shortcomings, which may be revealed during use.

  • Rapid heat loss

because of design features forms of heating equipment, in the complete set of any flat device a fairly thin thermal insulation layer is included. This factor negatively affects the maintenance of the required temperature, as a result of which the water cools quickly. This leads to an increase in energy costs.

  • Design flaws

The lintels between the inner walls have seams through which fluid leaks over time, which subsequently leads to the formation of rust. Even stainless steel material can fail for this reason.

  • High price

Classic round tanks cost significantly less than flat storage devices.

  • Expensive parts and accessories.

Some manufacturing companies, in order to reduce the size, deliberately "sacrifice" the heat-insulating layer and the energy efficiency of the unit. It is not recommended to choose models with a very small body - most likely, the performance of the device will not meet the expectations of the consumer.

The main criteria for choosing a flat storage water heater

In order for the unit to meet the criteria of the consumer, first of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the following parameters:

  • Control type

A mechanical device is considered more reliable than an electronic one; in case of an unexpected voltage drop, it will not lead to a malfunction of all equipment.

  • Coating
  • Heating part

A heating element that does not come into contact with water (dry) ensures a long service life of the device. For "wet" heating elements, the installation of a magnesium anode and its regular replacement is mandatory. It takes on all the negative effects of water, thereby extending the life of the electric heater.
