Corrupted Cardana. Cordana's Corrupted Song

This guide will describe the final boss of the Vault of the Guardians -Kordana Felsong. We will explain where to go, what mobs you will encounter, and how to fight the boss.

Kordana Felsong

Important part for notes

After winning over Watching and Vul "kanom, there will be another mini-boss leading to the final elevator. This introduces the mechanics Light of Elune, which is required to reveal the enemies in the subsequent area in order to be able to attack them. Anyone who is still in the dark will be inappropriate. You can jump to the far left and skip most of the way to minimize the mobs needed after the descent. On the last bridge leading to Kordana Felsong , any Light of Elune held by players must be discarded, as anyone holding it will be dazed for 8 seconds when crossing. This is to prevent additional light from appearing during the Kordana encounter.

Vilehorn Subjugator

The last mob in the Vault - Vilehorn Subjugator , which will block the path to the elevator. It will regularly cast Imprison on a random player (not tank) that is triggering Torment. These are roots on the player and cause them to deal a lot of damage to both themselves and players around them. To counteract this, healers need to hold them off while others need to move away from the affected player. He will also suffering souls, which will spawn a lot of green spots around the area, which after 6 seconds will spawn a pool in the area, dealing high Shadow damage to players standing in it. If this is cast on a player who is already imprisoned, they will need a lot of healer attention and probably a personal defensive cooldown to survive.

Light of Elune

While not an enemy, it is the primary ability in this area of the dungeon. As you progress, you will see a pillar that you can interact with. When the player does this, the pillar disappears and the player is impregnated Light of Elune. This causes them to shine light around them, revealing hidden enemies. This player also has an additional action button that can be used to create a pillar at the target location, removing the Light of Elune from the player. The new pillar reveals hidden enemies around it and can interact with another player so they can receive Light (allowing you to channel it to the creature).

Light of Elune can be knocked down by some tank-targeting enemy abilities, so we would suggest putting it on a solid melee player or healer.

spiny spider

spiny spider will spawn in groups and there will also be a large patrol consisting of 10 spiders moving up and down the right side of the ramp on the second floor. They will deal heavy damage to tanks and upon reaching 50% health, retreat into the darkness and repeatedly throw barbed web on random players. It will deal moderate physical damage with this hit, and ideally he should be dazed just before they leave to give him more time to reduce their numbers; after they leave, they will spread and cannot be revealed by a single effect Light of Elune. When this happens, first hunt down the mobs with low rate health to reduce group damage.

Spirit of Vengeance

Each Spirit of Vengeance will wait in the dark but with a very high aggro radius so be careful as when pulled they will teleport to a random player in range after a certain distance. They will stay put otherwise and will cause severe damage to their nearest targets if the tank is not present. They will cast regularly throw, which deals high physical damage to random players in the group. Along with that, they cast Knockdown blow /Roundhouse kick combo on their current target (usually a tank) stuns and then knocks back the player. If the player is holding Light of Elune it will be thrown to the ground in time for a Knockdown Blow, so it is not recommended to put it on a tank.

Aranasian Brood Mother

And finally Aranasian Brood Mother will cast Razor, creating around 3 brambles that will arm for over 2 seconds. If the player moves inside the wing after this, they will be trapped in the root and take moderate physical damage every 3 seconds. After these brambles have been propagated, the Brood will drop Attraction which will try to drag all players into that area and players must run against this to prevent roots.

Encounter with Kordana Felsong

Quick Orientation

Player in range must capture the buff Light of Elune. try Deepening shadows disperse. Kill Dark Avatars when he shows up to get the Light and go to Cordana to show her while avoiding everyone Fel Glaive and Explosive Moonglaive . The tank must be aware of Knockdown blow so as not to be thrown off the platform. Find gaps in the waves of Ghosts in time Creeping doom and use them to avoid damage. Throw a light on Avatar of Vengeance spawn to make Kordana vulnerable.

Review

Kordana Felsong is a deadly encounter with a huge number of mechanisms that can immediately destroy the group if played or executed incorrectly, so attention is very important. At one of the four corners there will be one Light of Elune so that players can take it before the encounter starts, and ideally this should be placed on ranged DPS.

Kordana herself will deal a lot of damage to tanks and repeat Knockdown blow /Roundhouse kick combo from previous mobs. The rollback is more substantial, however, moving the tank 20 yards, so be very careful to go anywhere close to the edges of the platform so it doesn't knock you out. Although it's not instant death, since the Felbat will teleport you, the boss will be loose on the platform, and this is most likely a kill or wipe signal.

Kordana will cast Explosive Moonglaive into a random ranged player who will launch a weapon at them and then return to Cordana. If this hits anyone in its path, it will trigger a Detonation for massive fire damage to players in range and multiplying all damage dealt by players by 50% for 10 seconds. This means that players must be very aware of where it was launched from and avoid the path, and pay attention to the path it will take to return. If this goes away, make sure you use a lot of defensive cooldowns to survive through the debuff.

In addition, Kordana will call Deepening shadows during the meeting, which will spawn a pool at a random location in the room. This will grow every second unless crafted, dealing heavy Shadow damage every second to those who remain inside. They shrink if players hold Light of Elune stand on them as they are immune to damage and the light will shrink the pool, eventually removing it. Make sure the cleanup pool priorities are on the group's path.

20 seconds into the fight, Cordana calls Dark Avatars, which will immediately use Light stealing, delete Light of Elune from the player holding it until the avatar is defeated. Cordana will also apply Step through the shadow, which will remove it from combat and put it in stealth until it is opened with Light of Elune. During combat, Kordana rolls 8 Fel Glaive, every 3 seconds, which deal high fire damage to any player, so avoid them. Then the Avatar will cast Shadow Strike at a random player, dealing heavy Shadow damage. This means that killing the Avatar should be quick and extremely important, and the player should get Light of Elune and find Cordana. This can be done manually by executing the path to Fel Glaive source or more safely by throwing light on her current path.

At 40% health, Cordana will start channeling Creeping doom, which will move her to the center of the room and make her immune to damage. She will then immediately spawn a wave of Ghosts and 3 more waves after that, each at a distance of 5 seconds. Ghosts move around the platform and cannot be attacked or otherwise stopped. They are visible as they appear, but then they are hidden. In each wave, there is a gap in a random place (a missing ghost). If the player comes into contact with the Ghost, they take massive fire damage. Therefore, players will have to use gaps in the Ghost waves to avoid damage.

The player holding Light of Elune can show Ghosts and you can move accordingly to make your way through them. Some magics reveal and show this mechanic, such as ghostly vision from Demon Hunters can also reveal the location of ghosts for the player. This can be useful if there is a situation where players may have lost control of the damage they take or are overwhelmed by the speed of the wave additions.

When she lands, Kordana will attack again. At 25% health, she will summon Avatar of Vengeance , which will protect her by reducing all damage dealt by 99% through Vengeance. You must quickly reveal the Avatar using Light of Elune, tracking source Fel Glaive throwing and burning it. Be extremely careful when moving the boss as she will still use Roundhouse kick , and the Avatar will always appear on the edge and in the corner of the room.

Finally, about a minute after the cast Creeping doom, Kordana will add two waves of Ghosts at once, but will not gain immunity. Moving, for that matter, is difficult, so you need to go through one wave first and then position yourself so that the second wave goes through (past) you.

From our world. But who is Garona from Draenor, how was she born, why did she serve Gul'dan? Her "liberation" by Khadgar certainly wasn't such a thing. In fact, we simply subjugated her mind, as one of our green acquaintances once did.

Witty, but eternally haunted by the shadow of those who wished to bend her to their will, Garona decided that she had cut a path to her freedom by killing Cho "gall during the events of the Warcraft comics. But, as it turned out, he did not die, reappearing during events of the addon Cataclysm as the final boss of the Twilight Fortress.

For Horde players, Garona first appeared in World of Warcraft and provided information that she hoped would help put an end to Cho'gall. However, her attempts were thwarted by Cho'gall himself, who was subsequently killed by the players by storming his fortress.

But Garona disappeared without a trace. And as new additions and other continents were released, she never appeared again. In Warlords of Draenor, we meet a different Garona whose biography begins on an alternate Draenor. Oddly enough, nothing is mentioned about her past, although it was, to put it mildly, unusual even in our version of the story; and it seems that any of her connections with Maraad in this world are absent. Which makes us wonder - where, then, does she come from?

ATTENTION! The text below contains spoilers regarding the currently available part of the legendary quest chain.

Garona Half-Orch

In this world, her name remains the same - she is still called Half-Horse, which implies that she is a half-breed, like her original. However, given the altered course of Draenor's history here, we're left wondering how she got there. Grommash and the rest of the orcs never drank the blood of Mannoroth in this timeline. But in the original timeline, Gul'dan commanded the orcs long before the gift was offered and consumed by him.

This fact makes the Warlords of Draenor timeline a bit inconsistent. We know that Garrosh Hellscream showed up at some point, spoke to Grommash at some point, and at some point after that he went to meet Ghul'dan in Ghul'dan and the Stranger. Presumably this took quite a while, as the comic takes place three days before the Warlords of Draenor trailer.

And when we find Gul "dan, he is captured by the Iron Horde and, along with his followers, is used to fuel the Dark Portal that connects their world to ours. We know that events have taken a different turn, since Ner'zhul does not possess anything even remotely reminiscent of the prestige and influence that he used in the original to unleash a war between the orcs and the draenei.

In fact, to some extent, his clan coexisted quite comfortably with the draenei of Shadowmoon Valley, until Grommash came with Garrosh and told him to prove his worth. Rulkan is still alive in Draenor here, which means Kil'jaden made contact with Gul'dan in the first place.

But what is the Garona's role in all this? When was it created? How did she get into Gul'dan's clutches? Did he have some method of orc aging that we've simply never witnessed? Garona is as green-skinned as Gul'dan and the rest of the Shadow Council orcs on Draenor - but did Ghoul create her? given by analogy with our timeline, or was she originally a half-breed who was persuaded to drink the blood of Mannoroth?

Presumably, Gul "dan has the same strong power over Garona that the Shadow Council owned in our dimension - when did he manage to achieve this? Where did she come from, and how did he manage to bend her to his will so masterfully?

Unfortunately, all these questions run the risk of forever remaining unanswered.

Garona and Khadgar

Garona's first appearance on Draenor is directly related to Khadgar's intervention. After he sends the players on a journey that eventually turns into a confrontation with Gul'dan, Khadgar is suddenly attacked by Garona, who, unable to kill him, disappears without a trace.

We don't see her again until much later, when she manages to wound Khadgar and escape, forcing the player to chase after her and subsequently capture her. And from that moment she is imprisoned - exactly until the player collects the tablets of elements necessary to improve the legendary ring.

Khadgar claims that with all the information we've provided, he may have found a way to negate Gul'dan's control over Garona's mind. This is where things get pretty nasty.

Khadgar didn't seem to care much about Garona's health. Instead, he demands information from her on Gul'dan's whereabouts, and, ignoring her protests and cries, repeatedly roasts her for the information she needs.

Cordana Felsong quite rightly asks him to stop, and asks, "What's the difference between what you're doing and torture?" But Khadgar does not immediately stop his actions. “But, she knows…” he expresses weak displeasure, before admitting Kordana was right and the fact that Gul "dan already twisted Garona's mind.

He returns to his tower, and then immediately tells the player that he knows the possible location of the sphere of power - a powerful item that can break the shackles of Gul "dan, if used correctly.

As soon as we bring the orb, Khadgar uses the artifact on Garon, freeing her. She expresses her gratitude, says that she owes him everything, and further fully supports his attempts to put an end to Gul "dan. Once you complete the stealth mission with Garona, she decides to follow you and serve in your garrison.

Maybe this is just my opinion, but watching Garona being tortured was a little hard. But what was even harder was to witness her immediate surrender to Khadgar, after he "liberated" her from the power of Gul "dan with the help of an orb of power. A thing that controls the mind and distorts it to fulfill the will of the caster.

And some part of me wonders: why exactly an orc, born and raised on Draenor; an orc who seemed to volunteer to serve Gul'dan; an orc who never got out of Gul'dan's control; the orc, whose past is not directly related to the human race, suddenly, for no reason, raised her hands in the air, thanked a completely alien representative of a race with which she is not familiar, for her alleged "liberation", despite her recent torture, and agreed to obey his orders?

Have we really “liberated” Garona, or is she serving us only because she is now under control Khadgar? And if so, why are we better than Gul "dan"?

Unanswered questions

We do not know. And they never would have known to the end, because the satellite would not give us any answers, or elements of the story, or new tasks. This whole thing makes me feel a bit uneasy, because it feels like we've just taken and stripped one of the key characters in the lore of Warcraft from her life as she was, and replaced her with "exploits" that we will never witness - all for the sake of adding another orange follower to the barracks.

It looks like we forced Garona to change from one form of service to another, which doesn't seem like a godly act. Partly Garona herself is to blame for this, and how willingly she switches sides without a second thought - all of which casts doubt on what Khadgar was doing when casting the spell to free her.

Here's the catch: Khadgar didn't know for sure that this Garona was under the rule of Gul'dan - and how could he know? He didn't know how long she served the warlock, and what her loyalty was based on. he compiled based on what he knew about Garon from our of the world, the one who was truly unhappy - the one who desperately tried to escape the fate prepared for her, to which she never agreed.

He knew our Garona; he had seen her terrified to the point of losing her mind in Karazhan, seeing a vision of a future she wished never happened. He saw how she watched with tears in her eyes the moment of her unimaginable betrayal of a man who had always treated her as nothing more than a worthy person. And then he looked around and assumed that the local Garona was acting from the same motives.

And despite knowing about our Garona, he imprisoned this one, tortured her, and eventually "released" her, conveniently using one of the Shadow Council's tools for this purpose.

Even if it was true, if Garona really wanted to free herself from Gul'dan's control, there is not the slightest hint of it until the moment she "frees herself", after which, her story very conveniently comes to an end. And this is precisely the problem - we have no evidence, no evidence to back up what Khadgar said.

We have only his word - the word of a man who did not hesitate to torture a half-orc to get the answers he needed, stopping the torture only when his companion objected loudly enough. And given all of Khadgar's deeds that we have witnessed in this expansion, his word is not one I would trust. Which is incredibly ironic in the case of a man whose name literally translates to "Trust" in Dwarven.

Legend

And all this brings me to another uncomfortable question that I have been asking since the first appearance of the local Garona - where is our Garona? Why didn't she come with us to Draenor now that the shackles holding her were broken? We can say with confidence that if someone knows Gul "dana completely and completely, it is she is not Khadgar.

And given her position as a fugitive, hiding from Varian's wrath, wouldn't it be logical to try to atone for her sins that she committed while under the control of Gul "dan, and stop his second coming? Help both the Horde and the Alliance alike, away from the gaze of Stormwind let her actions speak for her, and hope to return to Azeroth, at least partially relieve her conscience from the burden that has haunted her since the night she tore out the heart of King Llane?

After all, this is the whole Garona - she has an iron will, always willingly fights for her freedom, and is completely devoted to this idea. personal freedom. She lost her childhood even before it began, lived a life of humiliation and subservience, insulted by her own people. She always tried to hide from what happened to her; from how she was used by the Shadow Council. She went so far as to hide from her own son so as not to harm him, knowing that there were those who could make her harm.

She thought she got freedom at the end of the events covered by the Warcraft comic series, but discovered during the events of the Cataclysm add-on that Cho'gall was still alive. And instead of going on the run again, she came to our aid - because she knew better than anyone what a danger Cho "gall and his family were, and she wanted to do everything possible to stop them.

All this applies, of course, only to Garona from our world, and not to Garona from Warlords of Draenor. In the end, the alternate version of Garona will remain a disturbing reminder of the current expansion; her life and her motives will remain unrevealed; her future will be as uncertain as that of her counterpart on Azeroth.

I took her to my garrison. From there, she mindlessly sets out on missions, returning with booty and treasure, but without any objection or any noteworthy phrases, apparently absorbed in following the person whose actions led her to be tortured. And, I'm sorry, but this is not at all worthy of legends.

Heroes of Azeroth will face many challenges, in particular, dungeons scattered across the Broken Isles. In this review, we will talk about two of them: the Casemates of the Guardians and the Assault on the Violet Fortress.

Casemates of the Guardians

Minimum level:110
Zone:Azsuna
Number of bosses: 5

The Guardians' secret prison was carved into the mountains of Azsuna and sealed with magic to keep the Vault from outside invasion... and ensure that the monsters trapped inside never break free. For centuries, the Guardians' most dangerous adversaries have been imprisoned in this dungeon, but after the betrayal of Kordana and the coming of the Burning Legion, they roam freely under its arches.

Developer comment. The idea for this dungeon came to us on early stage development of the Legion expansion, and we immediately rushed to bring it to life. From the moment we created the chain of events in which the Demon Hunters awaken from stasis during the Legion's attack and seek escape from the raging chaos, it was obvious that the players had yet to return here. Upon their return, players will find that the once impregnable Casemates have been devastated, and prisoners who have escaped to freedom are in charge inside. When we chose the monsters that were supposed to be bosses (for example, Vul "Kan and the Watcher), we wrote them into the original demon hunter story so that the players had a sense of interconnection. Returning to this dungeon, you will see some kind of omen in the first appearance of these bosses.

Casemates of the Guardians consist of three floors.
Court of the Guardians

Casemates of the Guardians

  • Inquisitor Istyazarius: cloaked Inquisitors are perhaps the most mysterious and frightening creatures among all the demons in the service of the Legion. The Legion sent the Istyasar to the Casemates after the first attack, and now, as he glides through the halls, piercing the darkness with his gaze in search of secrets, even other demons make way for him.
  • Looking: like his other demonic counterparts, the Watcher can turn his gaze into a powerful weapon. The Guardians found a way to weaken this creature by reflecting its magic back into itself. They used this knowledge and created a special mirror prison designed to contain the power of the Watcher. And she did a great job... until recently.
  • Volcano: Vul "Kan was one of the servants of Ragnaros. Before the Guardians captured him, he managed to leave a flaming scar on Kalimdor's body. The Guardians failed to completely destroy this creature, and therefore they locked him in an ice prison. Alas, the recent attack on the Casemates weakened the barriers who have held back Vul'Kahn all these years...

Casemate of the Traitor

  • Kordana Felsong: traitor. Traitor. Exile. Kordana was one of those who followed Garrosh into the Dark Portal; she fought alongside Khadgar and tried to weaken the influence of the Shadow Council. But the dark sorcery of Gul "dan penetrated her heart - and Kordana became a pawn in the hands of the warlock. The once faithful servant of order will now forever remain in history as a traitor, whose deceit destroyed the Guardians.

Amethyst Fortress

After the Northrend campaign and the blue dragonflight attack on Dalaran's prison, the Violet Hold was rebuilt and its cells filled with the Lich King's most dangerous servants. Now hovering over the Broken Isles, Dalaran is at the forefront, and a dark menace is once again looking for a way out to destroy the Kirin Tor from within.

The Violet Hold is located in Dalaran, which has since been relocated to be considered part of the Broken Isles. New prisoners live there, eager to take revenge on the Kirin Tor.

Developer comment. Dalaran became part of the Broken Isles, and with it the Violet Hold. It will need to be visited when completing some tasks for the class hall, as well as to obtain a couple of artifacts. However, the fortress was and remains a dungeon first and foremost, and we decided to take advantage of its next return to the game. We've tweaked some of the features of the old dungeon (such as checkpoints and progress tracking) and brought back some of our favorite creatures that haven't pleased players in a long time with their presence. Since Dalaran played a pivotal role in the Northrend campaign, it would make sense for the Scourge monsters to languish in its prison cells. And so it happened - in this dungeon there are a lot of references to the most famous inhabitants of the Icecrown Citadel: here the forces of the Legion will unleash the closest relatives of the Blood Queen Lana "tel, Sindragosa, Rotface and Festergut on the heroes. And, well, you can’t do without an evil gnome!

There are 8 bosses imprisoned in the Fortress - but to complete the dungeon you will need to fight only three.

Zone: Dalaran
Minimum level: 105
Number of bosses:8 (3 of them are chosen randomly each time you visit a dungeon)
  • Millificent Manastorm: An unrivaled engineering genius, Millificent Manastorm is the complete opposite of his spouse, Millhouse. You definitely do not want to get in the way of this quick-witted young lady.
  • Bloody Princess Tal'ena: Bloody Princess Tal'ena is the daughter of the powerful Bloody Queen Lana'tel. After the Northrend campaign, she was imprisoned in the Violet Hold, where she was supposed to suffer from unbearable hunger forever. But now, at large, she is going to feast to her heart's content.
  • Rotten face: after the fall of Icecrown Citadel, many of Professor Putricide's experimental samples were in the hands of the warriors of the Light. Festerface is believed to be the failed prototype of two of the Professor's infamous creations: Rotface and Festergut.
  • Sael "orn: the origin of these arachnodemons is still debated; scientists who have studied the Legion believe that these creatures are all that remains of a forgotten race that lived on one of the worlds captured by the armies of Sargeras in ancient times. Sael'orn is a particularly vicious member of his kin, and it was he who was tasked with leading the capture of Dalaran.
  • Fel Lord Betrug: this brutal Legion commander is on full alert and will be happy to lead the invasion of Dalaran from the inside.
  • Anub "esset: one of the few survivors (if that word applies to him) of the crypt lords who were captured by Kirin Tor mages during the battle for Icecrown Citadel and imprisoned in the Violet Hold. The invasion of the Legion returned Anub "Esset freedom, and now his thoughts are exclusively occupied with revenge on all living things.
  • Mind Flayer Kaarj: this eerie creature was caught in the depths of Ulduar when it fell into a state of stupor after the death of Yogg-Saron. After moving Dalaran to the Broken Isles, the monster has mysteriously awakened, and only the powerful magic of the Violet Hold holds it back.
  • Icefall: Icefall is said to be a descendant of Sindragosa herself. This fearsome ice dragon was captured in the Frostwing Halls in Icecrown Citadel, where the Lich King's scientists learned how to breed such winged monsters.

From the World of Warcraft Roleplay Wiki

Kordana Felsong(Eng. Cordana Felsong) was a night elf who belonged to the organization of the Guardians and was under the command of Maiev Shadowsong. She was a brave and devoted warrior who had shown herself many times in the past. Kordana traveled to the alternate Draenor with Khadgar to help him deal with the new threat and became his bodyguard. She accompanied the archmage while he confronted Gul "dan and the Shadow Council. Although Khadgar often annoyed her, Kordana remained loyal and was ready to protect the magician at the cost of her life. She gave him valuable advice and asked to avoid unnecessary risks.

As Khadgar's hunt for Ghul'dan continued, Kordana began to worry that the archmage was becoming less and less interested in the safety of others, experimenting with dark magic, and becoming more ruthless. turned her into a servant of the Burning Legion.

With the start of the Legion's invasion across the Broken Isles, Cordana helped Gul "dan infiltrate the Vault of the Guardians to take possession of the remains of Illidan Stormrage. She recruited many demon hunters into the ranks of the Legion, using torture and persuasion. Kordana returned to the Vault of the Guardians for the sargerite key and was killed squad of heroes of Azeroth.

Alternate Draenor

The source of information in this section is an addendum Warlords of Draenor to World of Warcraft.

Kordana took part in the assault on the Dark Portal and was among the first heroes to enter the alternate Draenor along with the leaders of Azeroth. As the vanguard battled the Iron Horde, they watched the battle closely. When the Dark Portal was destroyed, Kordana accompanied Khadgar and his group into the eastern jungle, making their way through the Iron Horde's encampments. She fought off opponents in the arena of Kargatar and escaped death in the Dark Halls, after which she joined the hero in the fight against the Blackrock orcs. When the area near the mine was flooded, Kordana continued to fight the orcs near the Iron World Breaker. She was at Khadgar's side when a party from Azeroth managed to destroy the Dark Portal and escaped the Iron Horde in stolen ships.

Along with Khadgar, she began the hunt for the Shadow Council, which took place in Shadowmoon Valley and Frostfire Ridge. In the valley, Kordana teamed up with the commander of the garrison and entered the forests near Gul "var to catch a demon observer named the All-Seeing Eye. She demanded that Khadgar not try to poke into the Shadow Council settlements. In Frostfire Ridge, Kordana asked the Horde commander to go to Trom "var and meet with the orcs from the Frostwolf clan. When Khadgar was almost killed by Garona Half-Orchid, forced to serve Gul'dan, Kordana fought her and forced her to flee.

Zangarra

She later joined Khadgar in Zangarra, a Kirin Tor stronghold built in Talador. As Khadgar continued his search for Gul'dan, the warlock again ordered Garona to kill him. This time, the half-breed nearly succeeded, wounding and poisoning the Archmage. In pursuit of Garona, the Hero was able to capture the escaped half-breed and returned to Zangarra in the tower with the antidote.

After Blackhand's death, Kordana helped the archmage when he tried to free Garona from Gul'dan's control. On his first attempt, he used powerful magic that caused the half-breed to feel incredible pain. Khadgar, who wanted to know where Gul'dan was hiding, caused the captive more and more pain, and Kordana demanded that he stop the torture. Khadgar admitted that the guard was right and, after apologizing to Garona, began looking for another way.

The archmage sent the garrison commander to retrieve the Sphere of Dominion, which belonged to the Shadow Council and was used to brainwash spies. When the hero returned with the orb, Cordana warned Khadgar that he was trying to use dark magic. She strongly disliked what the archmage was playing with, although he was able to free Garona's mind from the iron grip of Gul "dan. Kordana demanded that Khadgar give the Sphere of Dominion to her, and said that she intended to destroy this disgusting item. The guard remained in Zangarra when Khadgar and Garona traveled to Bladefury Command to hunt down Gul'dan.

Betrayal

The warlock used the Orb of Dominion to influence Kordana from afar and win over to his side. When the hero brought many tomes of chaos from Hellfire Citadel, Khadgar asked him to hand over the books to Kordana to have them destroyed. Books could not be burned in the usual way because of the tormented souls chained to the pages. Arriving at Kordana, the hero found that the Sphere of Dominion was still with her. The guard accepted the tomes of chaos, asking if Khadgar had tried to use them.

It seemed that Cordana was fascinated by books that contained great power and rare knowledge. Drawing a runic circle, she promised the garrison commander that the tomes would be completely destroyed, and said that this would require a ring, which Khadgar had continued to empower for the hero since arriving on Draenor. The commander of the garrison refused to give Kordana the ring, and she yelled that she would take it by force for the glory of Gul "dan. She extracted fel energy from the tomes to protect herself in battle.

The guard said that she spoke with the Sphere of Dominion and saw the truth. Khadgar was just a kid who put on airs, tortured prisoners, played with other people's lives, and immersed himself in the magic he pretended to understand. The hero was able to weaken Kordana enough in combat that she was forced to open a portal and escape. The guardian stated that no one could stop Gul "dan. That the leaders would betray the hero, and Azeroth would burn. Upon learning of what had happened, Khadgar was amazed. He noticed that Kordana had moved away into recent times, but considered it part of the Guardians' normal routine. What happened to Kordana was Gul'dan's typical tactic: the warlock looked for other people's weaknesses and exploited them.

Tomb of Sargeras

Shortly before the opening of the portal in the Tomb of Sargeras, Khadgar met with Maiev Shadowsong and several guards in the Broken Isles. Maiev treated the archmage without condescension and offered to discuss the failure on Draenor. The Guardians have sent their brave and devoted sister, who has proven herself many times in the past, to help Khadgar. Maiev wondered how it was that Kordana became a traitor after spending only a few months with Khadgar.

Maiev revealed that Kordana regularly sent reports to the Guardians and described her doubts about the sanity of the Archmage she was guarding. Kordana called Khadgar reckless, arrogant, careless, and headstrong. Although Maiev admitted that Khadgar had changed over the years, she was well acquainted with the man Cordana described in her letters. Although Kordana was spotted on the Peak of the traitor, she managed to escape.

She returned to the Vault of the Guardians for the Sargerite Key, which the Guardians had captured along with the demon hunters who had returned from Mardum. The key was kept in the same chamber as Illidan's remains, and it was here that Kordana Felsong encountered a band of Alliance and Horde heroes. However, she knew that uninvited guests come, and stayed to end them once and for all. Despite the magic Kordana used, the heroes were able to destroy her and take the Sargerite Key. Warden Drelanim Whisperwind, freed from captivity by the Legion, thanked the heroes for killing the traitor and said that the Guardians were now in their debt.
