Conspiracies on the birthday of the Virgin on September 21. Nativity of the Blessed Virgin: signs and interesting facts about this divine holiday of the Orthodox calendar

From ancient times to Christmas Holy Mother of God perform various ceremonies and rituals, because it is believed that on this day they have great power and can radically change life for the better.

Rite for pregnancy on the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on September 21

Since the Mother of God is the main mother on earth, women who cannot become pregnant should turn to her for help. It is believed that if a woman conceives a child on this day, then he will be healthy and happy. To conduct the ceremony on the Nativity of the Virgin, you must independently flood the bath or wash the bath thoroughly. You should also prepare a wormwood broom, a small basin, a decoction prepared from seven different field herbs, a red ribbon and the same candle. You need to get up at sunrise, let your hair down and go to the bath. Windows and mirrors should be covered, and light should come from a prepared candle. Pour the decoction into the basin and dilute it hot water to a comfortable temperature. Undress, wash yourself with water and put on a shirt. Looking at how the candle burns, you need to think about your desire to conceive a child. After that, stand with one foot in a basin with a decoction, with the other - on a broom, and hold a red ribbon in your hands. To complete, say these words:

“I will get up crossing myself, go out blessed from my native house, and go into the wide fields, into the distance, to the cross path, to the high hill. Fragrant herbs, healing herbs grow on that hill. I will bow to the herbs and give them a river: healing herbs, herbs born by the Mother Earth, caressed by the red sun, absorbing light and healing power! I am empty like an earthenware jug, the jug is whole, but dark inside. Fill me, healing herbs, with the power to give birth, as Mother Earth gave birth to you and raised you. As you grow and bloom from Mother Earth, so my child will be born, grow stronger and bloom under the Red Sun. My word is strong, my deed is stucco! As she said, so be it!

Tie a knot in the middle of the ribbon, saying:

“I knit a knot, I bring a child’s soul! The knot cannot be untied, lie whole, but the child in me grows, grows stronger and does not run away. Truly!”

Carry the ribbon with you as a talisman until successful conception.

Rite for the Nativity of the Virgin on September 21 for marriage

Many girls dream of meeting their soul mate and getting married, and in order to bring this time closer, you can spend this great holiday. To carry it out, you should pick seven small branches of mountain ash without leaves. Roll the rods into a ring, fastening the edges with a red thread. Put the circle in the center of a large and flat plate, on which there should be no pattern. Set fire to the branches and say these words:

"A spark - to the fire, a girl - to a quick crown."

Pour the remaining ashes onto a piece of white natural cloth, and then shake it out on the street. It is believed that if a girl performs this ritual correctly, she will marry Pokrov next year.

Ancient holidays were often associated with special rites. Knowing what ritual should be performed in Oseniny, you can attract happiness and wealth into your life.

Autumn is a whole series of holidays that are annually celebrated on September 14, 21 and 27. On each of these days, people performed rituals to attract what they wanted, especially if it concerned money and good luck.

September 21 is the most important day of the Osenin series of holidays. Previously, by this time people had finished harvesting, preparing for winter, and on the holiday itself they called guests and laid a rich table. But, like any other folk holiday, Osenins did not pass without certain rituals, with the help of which people attracted good luck, love, health and money. You can follow the experience of your ancestors and also try to attract luck and prosperity.

How to attract money and good luck in Oseniny

Ritual with apples. Autumn is a harvest festival. The collection of fruits that the Earth presented after summer labors in the garden began on September 21. And, of course, the fruits were given sacred meaning, so they were used in rituals.

From the apples collected in the first Autumns - that is, on September 14 - 21 apples must be selected, trying to select the most beautiful ones. After that, they need to be washed, saying:

“As I wash off the dirt from these apples, so I will wash away poverty from myself.”

After that, apples should be distributed to the poor.

If you do not have the opportunity to collect apples from your garden, then you can buy them. But you can't take change.

Ritual with water. On September 21, the second Osenins were celebrated. Together with this holiday, the Nativity of the Virgin was celebrated. It was believed that on this day everything around is endowed with divine power. Special properties were attributed to water.

On the evening of September 21, you need to swim in a river or pond. If the weather is not suitable, then you can perform this ritual at home. While swimming, say:

“I will wash away all my failures in divine water. Voditsa from me, the servant (s) of God (name), flows down, takes away all troubles and misfortunes with it.

In order for the rite to bring a quick result, after that, do not talk to anyone until morning. It is advisable to go to bed immediately.

Ritual with a candle. Many rituals are associated with candles. Even our ancestors used fire in rituals for love, luck and money. It was believed that it was the flame of a candle that had the highest power in carrying out rituals to get what they wanted.

After the second Osenin, work began in the huts. Since ancient times, special importance has been attached to fire, and rituals performed with a candle were considered the most effective at this particular time.

To perform a ritual for money using a candle, you will need an earthenware bowl and a piece of paper on which you write everything you want to receive. Light a candle and place it in a bowl. Then say:

"The faster my desires turn into ashes, the sooner they come to life."

Then burn the paper on which your desires are written, and bury everything that remains in your yard. Over time, your desires will gradually come true.

Many rituals have come down to us since ancient Russia and tested on the experience of our ancestors. Try and you conduct one of the rituals offered to you by the experts of the site site and, perhaps, you can improve your financial situation and attract good luck. May your wishes come true and don't forget to press the buttons and

Malaya Most Pure, Ospozhinki, Nativity of the Virgin

On the Most Pure, on the day of the autumn equinox, the second meeting of autumn was celebrated (Photo: Wiktory, Shutterstock)

Date according to the old style: September 8

In the church calendar, this day falls big celebration- Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which in Orthodoxy is one of the twelve holidays - that is, the main ones of the year.

Very little is known about the birth of the Virgin. According to legend, the pious couple from Jerusalem did not have children for a long time. When Joachim retired to the desert to pray for the birth of a child, an angel appeared to both him and his wife, announcing that their offspring "would be spoken of throughout the world." Nine months later, Anna gave birth to a girl.

The feast in honor of the birth of the Virgin Mary was established in the 4th century. In Russia, he also received other names - the Small Most Pure (the Great Most Pure is celebrated on the day of the Assumption of the Virgin), Ospozhinka, Osenina.

Ospozhinki is also a harvest festival, which was sometimes celebrated for a whole week.- with games, songs, dances, feasts. Osenins were met by the water. Early in the morning, women went to the banks of rivers and lakes with bread. The older woman stood with the loaf, and the young ones sang songs to the glory of the Mother of God. After that, the bread was broken into pieces according to the number of those gathered: each woman took her piece home and fed the cattle with it.

Relatives came to the newlyweds on the Most Pure: they watched how they live, taught them the mind. The young hostess had to feed the guests delicious lunch and give her parents round pies, and her husband - to show the economy: live in the barns, harness and tools in the sheds.

This day was also called Lukov or Pasikov - from the words "bow" and "apiary". At that time, onion harvesting continued in the gardens, and bees were being prepared for wintering in apiaries.

On the Most Pure, on the day of the autumn equinox, they celebrated the second meeting of autumn and observed signs. If the weather was good, then the whole autumn should have been like that.

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Nativity of Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary- an important church holiday, in Orthodoxy it is one of the twelve and is celebrated on September 21.

The holiday was established by the Church in the 4th century. Tradition told us about the circumstances connected with this event.

In the small Galilean city of Nazareth lived an elderly couple - Joachim and Anna. Both spouses were righteous and pious. The holy spouses Joachim and Anna were childless for a long time and wept that they had no children. Once, on a big feast, Joachim brought gifts to the Lord God in the Temple in Jerusalem. But the priest did not want to accept the gifts of Joachim, because he was childless, and children were considered a blessing from God.

Meanwhile, his wife former home, also heard that the high priest in the temple refused to accept their gifts because of childlessness. She also learned that her husband, grieving and weeping, had gone into the desert, and she herself wept. Anna went into her garden, sat down under a laurel tree, sighed, and looking up at the sky with her eyes full of tears, she noticed, up in the tree, a nest in which little chicks were chirping. "Even birds have children, and we have no such comfort in old age" thought Anna.

Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared to her. He said: “You will conceive and give birth to a Daughter, blessed, above all. Through her, God's blessing will be received by all the peoples of the earth. Through Her, salvation will be given to all people. Her name will be Maria.

At the same time, an angel appeared in the wilderness to Joachim. He said: “Joachim! God has heard your prayer, and He is pleased to give you His grace. Your wife Anna will conceive and give birth to your Daughter, who will be the joy of the whole world. Here is a sign for you that I am telling you the truth: go to the temple in Jerusalem, and there, at the Golden Gate, you will find your wife Anna, to whom I said the same thing ”.

Surprised, Joachim, thanking God with all his heart, joyfully hurried to Jerusalem, to the temple. There, as the angel told him, he saw Anna praying to God at the Golden Gate, and told her about the angel. She also told her husband everything she had seen and heard about the birth of her Daughter. After praying to the Lord and worshiping Him in the temple, the couple returned home.

Nine months later, Anna had a Daughter, the purest and most blessed. Above all that has ever been created, the beginning of our salvation, our intercessor before God. Heaven and earth rejoiced at her birth. On the occasion of Her birth, Joachim brought great gifts and sacrifices to God, received the blessing of the high priest, the priests and all the people for being worthy of God's blessing. Then he arranged a great feast in his house, and everyone rejoiced and praised God.

The Holy Church rightly calls Joachim and Anna Fathers of God, because Jesus Christ was born from their Most Holy Daughter of the Virgin Mary.

Day of military glory of Russia - Day of victory of Russian regiments in the Battle of Kulikovo (1380)

Battle of Kulikovo, 1380

September 21 is celebrated in our country Day of military glory of Russia- The day of the victory of the Russian regiments led by Grand Duke Dmitry Donskoy over the Mongol-Tatar troops in the Battle of Kulikovo (1380). It is established federal law No. 32-FZ of March 13, 1995 "On the days of military glory and anniversaries Russia".

Terrible disasters brought the Tatar-Mongol yoke to Russian soil. But in the second half of the 14th century, the disintegration of the Golden Horde began, where one of the senior emirs, Mamai, became the de facto ruler. At the same time, Russia was in the process of forming a strong centralized state through the unification of Russian lands under the rule of the Moscow principality.

The strengthening of the Moscow principality alarmed Mamai. In 1378 he sent a strong army to Russia under the command of Murza Begich. The army of Prince Dmitry Ivanovich of Moscow met the Horde on the Vozha River and completely defeated them.

Mamai, having learned about the defeat of Begich, began to prepare for a big campaign against Russia. He entered into an alliance with the Grand Duke of Lithuania Jagiello and Prince Oleg of Ryazan. In the summer of 1380, Mamai began a campaign. (8) On September 16, 1380, a fierce battle broke out near the place where the Nepryadva River flows into the Don. Personally, Dmitry Ivanovich fought in the forefront of his troops. The enemy could not withstand the unexpected blow and began to retreat, and then fled. Mamai's army was completely defeated. Detachments of Jagiello, having learned about the victory of the Russians, quickly returned to Lithuania.

Painting by M.I. Avilov "Duel of Peresvet with Chelubey on the Kulikovo field" (1943)

According to the chronicles, the battle on the Kulikovo field took place on the day of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. Prince Dmitry had great hopes for the help of the Mother of God and offered her his prayers.

In the temple of the Nativity Monastery in the city of Vladimir, where the body of Prince Alexander Nevsky rested, on the night of Christmas (from September 7 to 8, according to the old style), ministers prayed, asking Alexander to help Dmitry. And then a miracle happened - candles were lit near the coffin of the prince, Prince Alexander rose above the coffin, looked at the monks and became invisible.

The Mother of God did not reject the prayers of Orthodox Christians and supported their spirit and strength in a difficult battle. Since those years, the Russian Orthodox Church on the day of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos also celebrates the victory over Mamai.

The battle on the Kulikovo field seriously undermined the military power of the Golden Horde and accelerated its subsequent collapse. It contributed to the further growth and strengthening of Russia as a single state, raised the role of Moscow as a center for the unification of Russian lands.

Monument in honor of the victory on the Kulikovo field, designed by A.P. Bryullov (Photo: liveinternet.ru)

In the middle of the 19th century, on the site that was considered the Kulikovo field, a monument was erected and inaugurated, designed by the architect A.P. Bryullov. In 1996, by a Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the State Military-Historical and Natural Museum-Reserve "Kulikovo Field" was created on the site of the battle. And today, the international military-historical festival "Kulikovo Field" is held here annually.

Here it must be said that although the event itself took place in 1380 on September 8 according to the old style, that is, September 16 - according to the new one, but officially the holiday - the Day of Military Glory - is celebrated on September 21. This is the cost of converting dates from the old style to the new one. Since, when setting the date, the rule was not taken into account: when translating dates of the 14th century, 8 days are added to the old style, and according to the rules of the Russian Orthodox Church, 13 days are added (according to church chronology, when translating dates from the old style to new Age always add 13 days, regardless of the century in which it occurred). Due to these inconsistencies in the calendars, it turns out that the correct calendar anniversary of the battle falls on September 16, while the state and Orthodox celebration remains on September 21.

International Day of Peace

A white dove in a peaceful sky - may there always be peace! (Photo: Andy Z., Shutterstock)

In 1981, by its resolution 36/67, the UN General Assembly declared International Day of Peace(International Day of Peace) and set its celebration on the third Tuesday of September. Having established this Day, the General Assembly dedicated it to the commemoration and strengthening of the ideals of peace both within states and peoples, and between them.

And 20 years later, in 2001, the General Assembly unanimously adopted resolution 55/282, in which it decided that from 2002 the International Day of Peace would be celebrated annually on September 21 as day of universal ceasefire and non-violence.

For most people on planet Earth, peace is an everyday reality. Our streets are calm, our children go to school. Where the foundations of society are strong, the priceless gift of peace may not be noticed by anyone in particular.

However, for too many people in modern world this gift is nothing more than a fabulous dream. They live in chains, in an atmosphere of instability and fear. For them, basically, this day exists, established by the UN in 1981.

Since then, this holiday has involved millions of people, covering many countries and regions, where various actions and events are held by public and youth organizations. After all, the Day is designed to make people not only think about the world, but also do something for it.

The UN invites all countries and peoples to stop all hostilities on this Day and celebrate this Day by holding educational and public information campaigns on the problems of peace. And also uses celebration international day of the world, to draw attention to their diverse work in support of peace and to encourage individuals, groups and communities around the world to think about the problems of peace, share information and practical experience in achieving it.

So, every year, UN events dedicated to the Day traditionally begin with a ceremony at the Peace Bell at the UN headquarters in New York - first, the UN Secretary General sounds an address, after which he strikes the bell, then, after a minute of silence, the chairman speaks UN Security Council.

And every year, Peace Day is dedicated to a specific theme. Yes, in different years it was held under the mottos: "Human rights and peacekeeping", "Disarmament and non-proliferation", "Youth for peace and development", "Peace and democracy: speak your mind", "Sustainable peace for a sustainable future", "Education for peace ”, “Peoples’ Right to Peace”, “Sustainable Development Goals: constituent elements Peace”, “Together for Peace: Respect, Security and Dignity for All”, etc.

Developments recent years- war, terrorism, military spending, deep contradictions that divide peoples and individuals around the world have determined the unprecedented relevance of the International Day of Peace today.

It was believed that if a woman washed herself with water on this day before sunrise, then she would be beautiful until her old age. And if a girl washed her face before sunrise, she should be betrothed this year.

And so that everything was safe in the house, the women went to church in the morning and put candles to the Most Holy Theotokos, which were wrapped in paper flowers. A piece of paper was put on the bottom of the candle, on which requests were written to the Blessed Virgin. We watched which side the piece of paper would burn, because it was this request that would be fulfilled. If the piece of paper burned down completely, it means that all requests were heard.

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary 2016 date, date, when September 21 is celebrated by all local Orthodox Churches Those who adhere to the Julian calendar solemnly celebrate the day of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, including in 2016.

new church year

It is from this day that the new church year opens - after all, with the birth of the long-awaited little girl, who later becomes the Mother of God, the history of the New Testament begins. The girl, who was named Mary, was born to middle-aged pious parents - Joachim and Anna.

history of the holiday

The elderly spouses Anna and Joachim from the Galilean city of Nazareth regretted and cried for a long time that they had no children. On one of the great holidays, Joachim brought gifts to the Lord God in the Jerusalem temple, but the clergyman refused to accept them from a childless husband.

In those days, children were considered the best blessing of God, and childlessness was God's punishment. Sorrowing and crying, Joachim went into the desert, trying to beg forgiveness from God.

At the same time, his wife Anna, hearing that the high priest did not accept gifts from her husband, wept bitterly and went into the garden to hide from prying eyes. On the bay tree, under which she stopped, chicks squeaked in the nest. “Even the birds were lucky enough to have children, and only my husband and I have no consolation in old age,” Anna regretted.

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared before her and told the news that soon she would give birth to a daughter who would bless her parents and all the peoples of the earth, and bring salvation to all people. The girl's name will be Maria.

An angel also appeared to Joachim and said that God had heard his prayers - Anna would conceive and give birth to a girl who would be a joy to the whole world. Surprised and comforted, Joachim, thanking God, hurried back to Jerusalem. Near the temple, he met Anna and told her about a wonderful sign. Anna also shared her vision with her husband.

After praying to God, the couple returned to their home. Nine months later, Anna gave birth to a Daughter, the purest and most blessed, who, as the angel said, was named Mary. In memory of this event, the Church established the feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos.

And the Church calls the spouses Joachim and Anna the Bogotas, since their daughter, Holy Virgin Mary brought Jesus Christ into this world.

Signs for September 21

In the villages earlier on this day they always celebrated the harvest festival. Previously, it was believed that by this time all the work in the fields had already been completed and the harvest had been harvested. It was in honor of this that people arranged a festive feast. There was a dependence of the duration of the holiday on the amount of the harvest. A plentiful and rich harvest promised a holiday for a couple of weeks, but a meager harvest was celebrated for no more than three days.

Another old tradition is to visit the newlyweds on this day. This refers to those couples who connected their destinies this year. The newlyweds had to generously set the table, and the older guests shared with them the secrets of a successful family life. If you listen to these tips carefully, then family life will not only be happy, but also full of material prosperity.

There is another old belief - the rite of lighting a new torch. The end of the harvest marked the end of the rural year. We had to begin to wait and prepare for a new sowing season. The old last year's torch was extinguished, and then a new one was lit. She was supposed to take away illnesses, bring happiness and a rich harvest to the house.

There were signs for the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos that related to the weather. It was after September 21 that it was believed that the real autumn had come. If on this day the sun is shining in the sky, there are no clouds, then autumn will be all like that. If the sky is gloomy and cloudy, then autumn will be rainy and cold.

There is another sign on this holiday - it is associated with a promotion. If something unusual happened to a person that day, he should immediately go after that, take a broom and stand on it for a couple of minutes. This promised promotion up the career ladder. Any incident can be safely attributed to the unusual.

The signs for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary are very diverse, but they all promise good, good things to a person. The Virgin Mary has always been revered in Russia, since ancient times people have come to her asking for help in different problems. If you truly believe, then help will definitely come and all your wishes will come true.

Traditions and rituals for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

On this day, traditionally everyone dressed up in best clothes and went to the temple, where they thanked God for giving hope to the childless, and also prayed to the Virgin Mary that she had come into this world and helped believers in solving their pressing problems.

On the holiday of September 21, housewives usually baked buns on which they depicted the letters "R" and "B", meaning "Nativity of the Virgin", which they gave to all family members so that they were healthy and well-fed. They were also placed near the icon and kept until January 7, and then they were eaten by the whole family. Often such bread was used to get rid of ailments. So, if someone in the house fell ill, they gave him a crushed piece of bread, adding it to drink or food.

On the day of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, they blessed the water with which a woman who had never given birth washed herself. It was believed that she would become a mother very soon if she drank it for 40 days in a row. It was also possible to wash pregnant women with it - then, according to popular beliefs, pregnancy passed without problems.

Although these days were considered lenten, but on September 21 you could eat fish or soup from it, pies with mushrooms. They were given to guests and beggars, handing money in addition. If a woman spared nothing for people, then they blessed her, and the house was always joyful and happy - a full bowl and many children.

The girls went early in the morning to the river and washed themselves in order to be beautiful all year round. The sign said: if a girl washes herself before sunrise, this year she will be married.

The young family always waited for dinner at the Mother of God Christmas for their parents, so that they would teach them how to properly manage the household. The young woman cooked pies and treated the guests, and the husband showed his household. Parents gave gifts: a woman - a scarf, and a man - an ax, but on condition that everything was clean and okay in the house. If the life was bad, the husband got a “gift” of a whip, and his wife got her pie, that is, they refused to treat her. By the way, the crumbs from this pie should not be thrown away, but given to livestock or birds.

In the evening, on the occasion of the Nativity of the Virgin, the future spouses first went to visit the groom's parents, putting on their best clothes and carrying a cake decorated with a red ribbon on which such letters "P" and "B" were written. She protected from everything bad. Half of this ribbon was given to the boyfriend's family, and then to the bride's family. This ribbon was then tied up during the wedding and given to the newlyweds.

So that there would never be quarrels in the house, on September 21, the oldest woman had to go to church and light a candle for the health of her family. After leaving the temple, she was not supposed to talk to anyone until she reached home.

If a girl cannot get married for a long time, then she needs to ask a married friend for a piece of bread from her house and take it to church, defend the service, and then eat it right in the temple. It was believed that after such a rite, having sat in the brides very soon, she would find her soul mate.

A conspiracy from quarrels in the family to the Blessed Virgin Mary

For a conspiracy from quarrels in the family, you need to put a small icon of the Virgin in front of you, take a white cup and pour water into it.

The cup must be held in front of the icon. Water is best taken from a living source - from a spring, well or stream.

Above the water, say such words of a conspiracy from quarrels in the family:

Mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary! From for the sake of his joy, about his sweet mercy. And create Mother, from unbearable longing and sadness to the servant of God (name) about the servant of God (name): so that he doesn’t eat in food, he wouldn’t drink in drink, he wouldn’t go in walking, he wouldn’t fall asleep in a dream. Peace and peace be sent to us, advice and love, put righteous thoughts into our heads and words into our mouths touching. To look at each other - not to see enough, to breathe - not to breathe, to walk hand in hand and hold on to each other. Amen, amen, amen.

Little by little, the whole house should be sprinkled with this water, especially those places where the husband spends the most time, for example, his chair in the kitchen, armchair, bed. And leave a little at dinner for your spouse in tea or some other drink to add.

First, put the icon in your bed on a pillow for 10 minutes, and then on your husband, also for 10 minutes.

If someone in the family provokes quarrels all the time, then you need to bring the icon of his saint from the temple and the image of Christ the Savior. In the evening, three candles are lit in front of the icons and some thing of the one who starts a quarrel is placed next to it. Read the plot three times:

Remember, Lord, the soul of the servant of God (name), put in it pity and mercy for me, the servant of God (name). Amen. Amen. Amen.

Cross yourself, lay the icons facing each other, and hide this person in the room for three days. Better yet, give him these icons (of course, you need a person to be a believer and accept your icons, treat them with respect).

Rituals and Ceremonies for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin - September 21
Earlier on the day of the celebration of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin - September 21, numerous rituals and rituals were performed for beauty, family well-being and to maintain excellent health. Here are a few of them:

On the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, all young women went to the river in order to perform a rather special ceremony near the water.
They always knew and believed that if absolutely any woman washes herself on the day of this wonderful holiday with water before sunrise, then she, in turn, until her very old age will be just beauty.

Well, if a young girl washes before sunrise, then this year she must be betrothed.

They also performed a no less special ritual in order to maintain prosperity and peace in the house.
To do this, on September 21, many women went to church early in the morning to put a candle wrapped directly in paper flowers on the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.
It was on the bottom of the candle that they put on a small piece of paper on which they wrote their requests or desires to the Virgin Mary.
After that, they very carefully observed from which side the leaf would burn, and then exactly that request would be fulfilled without fail. In the event that the sheet completely burned out, it only meant that absolutely all desires would come true.

In order to support healthy mind, to avoid damage and all kinds of diseases, it was on the day of the holiday that they completely burned all old clothes and shoes. And the children were directly doused on the threshold - with water.

Charm for the family
Since at that time all field work was already ending, the zhinkovy sheaf with the last spikelets of wheat harvested from the field was always at home. If you do not have such a sheaf, you can simply collect ears of corn on the field and be sure to keep them at home - they are used to perform various magical rites, rituals and fortune-telling.
Take a few spikelets, a sprig of mountain ash, viburnum and a sprig of spruce or pine, prepare a church candle, a red thread and a small piece of fabric, preferably natural (burlap, cotton, linen).
Gather a beautiful bouquet around the candle from all the listed twigs and spikelets and tie it with red thread, sprinkle it with holy water and attach about front door- this will not allow evil spirits, the evil eye and trouble to enter your home.

Ritual for the fulfillment of a wish
Since the rites for the Nativity of the Mother of God were dedicated to girls and women, most of them are aimed at fulfilling cherished desires, finding love, attracting a loved one.
For this ceremony you will need:
Take one twig from three different willows;
One branch from three different apple trees;
One branch from a hazel;
Green ribbon;
Container with clean spring water.
Gather all the twigs together and wrap with green tape so that it covers more than half of the entire composition. Now make your wish and dip the branches in spring water, think about your dream.
Such a bouquet should be taken to the most secluded corner of the garden and buried under an apple tree and your wish will soon come true. AT Slavic tradition It is the apple tree that is a symbol of good luck, the birth of a miracle and a new life.

Protection from damage and evil eye
Rowan is the first assistant and amulet to protect against the evil eye, damage, hatred and envy. It is necessary on September 21 to pick rowan twigs, be sure to ask the tree for forgiveness for this and bring them home, arrange them in this way:
A branch near each window;
A small bouquet near the front door.
As long as the rowan branches are in these places, your house will be protected from evil spirits and uninvited, bad guests.
With the help of a mountain ash, plucked on September 21, they also checked whether a person had damage or an evil eye.
If you suspect someone specific, then pick two branches of mountain ash and leave one in your vase with water, and give the second in a bouquet with other flowers and plants to the suspect. If this person's rowan berries shrivel and fall faster than yours, then your suspicions are accurate. In this case, you need to take your rowan twig out of the vase, dry it and throw it into the yard to the one who caused the damage - this will return to him all his evil thoughts against you.

Ritual for early marriage
You need to take a few dry hazel twigs and tie them in a circle, tying them with a red thread. Now take a round dish, put this circle in its center and set it on fire with the words:
“How fast the fire goes in a circle, so quickly I will go down the aisle.”
When the twigs are completely burned and the ashes remain, it is swept into a clean piece of cloth, it can be in gauze and taken out into the street, where it is let into the wind. According to legend, this wedding ceremony helps to get married within a year.
