Hanging holders for glasses in the kitchen: choose the best option. Bar counter in the kitchen - what accessories are needed? Do-it-yourself wooden glass holder

Dremel offers a versatile hanging wine cabinet for wine storage.

What you need:

  • - wooden slats;
  • — 1 wooden block;
  • - multifunctional tool (here Dremel 4000);
  • - sanding attachment (430) 6.4 mm, grit 60;
  • - cutting disc for wood (SC544);
  • - universal drill (561);
  • - universal cutting kit (565);
  • - glue gun (here Dremel (930));
  • - screwdriver;
  • - screws;
  • - dowels;
  • - self-tapping screws;
  • - metal chain

Step 1

To make the component parts of the shelf, cut a block of wood into several pieces. The back and front of the shelf should be 50 x 2 cm and the sides should be 25 x 2 cm. Sand the edges of the workpieces with the Dremel 4000 and the Dremel sanding head (430), 6.4mm, 60 grit.

Step 2

Take wooden slats and cut them into 12 even pieces (you will need 2 coasters for each bottle). Each blank must be at least 22 cm in length. To make these stands, use your Dremel 4000 with a wood cutting disc (SC544).

Step 3

Take the front and back of the wine rack blanks and mark on them where the slats will be placed. Place pencil marks along the entire length of the finished front of the shelf - you will need them to cut the cuts for the bottles. In order to make it more convenient to place the bottles on the shelf, cut out semicircles in which the containers should fit. Use your Dremel 4000 and the Universal Cutting Kit (565) to get the job done. Sand the edges of the semi-circles using the Dremel 4000 Multi-Tool with sanding attachment Dremel 6.4mm, 60 grit (430).

Step 4

Secure the rails at the marked points using the Dremel Glue Gun (930). To complete the work on the shelf, it remains only to fasten all its parts with screws. Make holes in the shelf components and install metal corner brackets in them. Then screw in the 25mm screws and tighten them with a screwdriver. To make the wine rack even more convenient, you can install a lattice for hanging glasses on it. To do this, you just need to screw the metal grate on the back of the shelf with a screwdriver.

Step 5

Attach self-tapping screws to the corners of the front side of the wine rack. Attach a metal chain to them - with its help you can place the shelf anywhere in the kitchen.

Step 6

Now it only remains to choose a good place to hang crafts on a chain. To secure the wine cabinet, measure the distance between the self-tapping screws. According to it, make four holes in the ceiling using the Dremel 4000 and the Universal Bit (561), then insert the dowel and screw in four additional self-tapping screws. Hang a shelf.

For some, coasters for glasses become a collector's item. Someone does not understand why they are needed. But see for yourself: the table is protected from temperature damage, scratches and round stains after beer mugs; guests are satisfied with an interesting stylish thing under their glass; you are cheered up by using a product of your own creation. And it's also a great gift! Sounds like enough reason to make a coaster kit, right?

We have collected for you the most original and interesting examples. Many of them use cork material as a base, which is easy to find in hardware stores and art stores. Coasters are most often made from it, so you can buy ordinary ones and improve them. We provide links to some master classes, but many are so simple that you yourself can guess how it's done.

From wine corks

Classic coasters for drinks and hot, as we have already mentioned, are made of cork material. But wine corks do not differ in properties, but look much more interesting. For a large stand, the idea is to fill the frame with vertically standing corks. For smaller coasters, it is better to cut the corks into thin circles or in half and stick them horizontally on a pre-prepared base.

From wine corks you can do many other things, we wrote about this in a post.

From the details of board games

From fabric

To make coasters out of felt, it is not necessary to be able to sew well. Just take the base for the stand (cork is best, but cardboard is also possible) and sheathe it with felt with small stitches. If you connect fantasy, you can get such pretty citrus slices:

You can use other fabrics, even lace. Such coasters look especially elegant, and making them is as easy as shelling pears: glue a piece of lace fabric to the cork base using PVA and smear it on top. When it dries, cut off the excess edges. Voila!

From ceramic tiles

Square tiles are another great material for coasters. On this basis, original coasters in the style of Polaroid shots were made. The effect is achieved due to the fact that a photograph is glued onto a white tile in compliance with the proportions.

Instead of a photo, you can stick your favorite text on the tile.

From paper

“Paper is too soft for that,” you might think. And it is true. But only if you do not twist strong strips from it. For example, an old magazine can be used for such coasters:

Wooden holders attached from the inside to the top wall of the cabinet are a reliable and convenient device for storing fragile items.

This simple device can be easily done with your own hands.

You will need:

3 wooden planks with a section of 2 × 1 cm, length 240 cm;

ruler, pencil, awl, adhesive tape;

miter box, hacksaw;

white glue, primer for wood;

nails, hammer;

narrow flat brush, white matte acrylic paint, medium flat brush;

screws of medium thickness, a screwdriver, a drill and a drill bit of the same diameter as the screws.

Making holders for glasses with your own hands

Wood planks and screws are the basic material needed to make these handy wine glass holders.

  • Each plank must be cut into four pieces. The cabinet in which we are going to install the holder has a depth of 50 cm.

The slats should be slightly shorter: 45 cm. In this case, the cabinet doors will not touch the glasses.

  • Mark the cut points on the planks with a ruler and pencil. Place the bar in the miter box, hold it with your hand and cut it. Cut out all 12 pieces in the same way.
  • The resulting planks must be connected in pairs at an angle of 90 ° to get six stops in the shape of the letter L. Glue the side of one plank with glue. Apply glue along the long side of the other plank, close to the edge. Connect the planks and hammer four nails along the connection. Connect the rest of the planks in the same way. Leave for 24 hours to dry.
  • Prime the holders with a narrow brush and let dry for 4 hours. Paint the holders white acrylic paint with a flat brush of medium width: first apply one coat of paint and let dry for 8 hours, then apply a second coat and leave for 12 hours to dry.
  • Mark the locations for the screw holes. Insert a drill bit of the same diameter as the screws into the drill and drill holes while holding the drill vertically.
  • Measure the diameter of the bottoms of the glasses to determine the distance between the holders.

  • On the top wall of the cabinet inside mark the lines along which the glasses will be attached. The distance between the rows of holders, as well as between the outer holders and the side walls should be 3 cm. To measure the distance between the holders, add 0.5 cm to the diameter of the bottoms of the glasses.
  • Place the holders strictly along the marked lines and stick with tape. Holding the holders with your hand, insert the awl into drilled holes and punch holes in the cabinet wall.
  • Tighten the screws with a screwdriver and peel off the tape.

The western piece of furniture in the form of a high table and graceful chairs still does not go out of fashion, more and more surprising with new configurations and designs. Bar counter accessories are indispensable devices that provide additional storage space kitchen utensils, food and drinks. Modern manufacturers offer many options various designs for every taste and budget. When choosing accessories for a bar counter in the kitchen, it is worth remembering their original purpose and purchasing only what is really useful in the household.

Bar counter equipment: pros and cons

The bar counter performs a number of important functions: it zones the space, it is used as dining table or simply serves as an interior decoration. It can be single-level or multi-tiered, with or without shelves. The most important factor is that it harmoniously fits into the overall interior and does not clutter up the space. A round bar counter is suitable for spacious rooms, and a rectangular compact one will look good in a small kitchen.

The presence of accessories and equipment has its advantages and disadvantages. Of the advantages of accessories, one can distinguish the rational use of space, especially when installing a multi-level structure. It is possible to organize the working and dining area so that each item is in its place, and everything you need is at hand. Finally, bar counters for the kitchen with stylish accessories and lighting delight guests, becoming the highlight of the interior.

However, if you overload the design with shelves and accessories, especially in a small kitchen, the room will visually decrease, become cramped and bulky. In addition, the bar counter will have to be cleaned much more often from dust and dirt that accumulates on appliances, glasses and roof rails.

Varieties of accessories

Accessories for the bar counter are classified according to the type of fastening and purpose. All accessories are usually made of metal, sometimes combined with tempered glass. You can choose the most successful option, which will be combined in color with other interior items: copper, gold, chrome, bronze, and also choose a matte or glossy finish.

Fastening classification

  • Bar shelves of the central type, which can be round or cone-shaped. These include a fruit bowl, glass holders with special recesses for legs, niches for storing cutlery, small items, spices, etc. They are mounted on a pole passing in the center of the shelves.

  • Swivel (side) shelves for bar counters with the help of mounting on the railing, which extends to the side, have the ability to rotate around its axis. Such bar fittings will become indispensable if there is not enough space for table setting, because it can always be removed to the side. It includes: a round fruit bowl, a cone-shaped shelf for storing kitchen utensils, as well as a single or triple hanger on which you can hang the necessary cutlery.

  • Hanging system for storing glasses, bottles and glasses, which is not attached to the bar, but to the ceiling. Thanks to this design, the kitchens, photos of which can be viewed on the website, look especially stylish and modern.

Classification by purpose

  • Bar shelves in which you can store kitchen utensils.
  • Hangers with hooks for hanging napkins, cups, ladles, etc.
  • Designs for storing glasses and bottles.

Hanging baskets for the bar counter are a very original accessory if the design is adjacent to the wall. They can be multi-tiered and fastened with hooks like a railing on an apron.

Mounting methods

To install a multi-level system of shelves, you will need a bar pipe with a diameter of 5 cm. When choosing a material, give preference to brass or nickel - they are the most durable and easy to use. The rod is fixed with the help of flanges to the ceiling and to the floor and with the help of side fasteners to the wall. Rails are put on the pipe for the bar counter, which allow you to adjust the height of the shelves. Such holders allow you to change the rack configuration by adding or removing new elements.

The bar pipe itself and everything that is fixed on it with the help of various holders

Choice of equipment

Accessories for the bar counter should be selected in accordance with its purpose and the volume of the room. If the piece of furniture is considered as a table for a snack, then it would be advisable not to overload it with accessories, but to build a small shelf or cabinet. In the absence of a barbell, this option would also be appropriate, since the bar leg, like solid construction with a worktop, do not imply central and rotary shelves.

For those who like to cook a lot, it is recommended to install hangers with hooks for storing kitchen utensils, which should always be at hand. You will also need a fruit bowl and a side shelf for small items. Hosts who prefer to have fun with friends can get a hanging system for glasses and beer mugs. A similar design with backlight will look very impressive.

In order for the bar pipe not to remain empty, it is necessary to install swivel-type shelves that do not interfere with table setting and are easily moved to the opposite side. In addition, guests do not have to reach far for the desired item.
