Ikea kitchen method corner floor cabinet. How to assemble an ikea kitchen: sharing personal experience

Well, I finally got to my favorite topic - kitchen furniture! The review turned out to be long, because I wanted to talk about my four-year experience with IKEA kitchens. Nothing strengthens a family like a successful and, most importantly, calm repair)))) Well, something, but there were no disputes over the kitchen)))

Over the past 4 years, my family and I have experienced two renovations and relocations. At first, we thought that during the first move we would stay in the apartment for a long time, but three years later, the attraction with the repair and purchase of the kitchen was repeated in the new house. And if it were not for the experience of the previous repair, it would have been difficult, as time was running out. It's good that I already knew exactly where to go for the kitchen! Where I will get exactly what I need, without delay, without delay and rework! And the husband was all for: the kitchen does not need to be ordered - he arrived, made the calculation, paid and bought it! It is simply amazing how well-established production is at IKEA factories: at any time you can buy, replace a headset element and be sure that it will match the desired millimeter by millimeter, that the color will not differ by 1/10000 and, most importantly, you don’t have to wait.

Honestly, I sincerely do not understand why wait two or three months to make a similar Ikeevskaya kitchen to order. The main arguments "against" the IKEA kitchen that I met:

1. "In IKEA there is no kitchen inlaid with gold, and no rhinestones, and no feathers." All this is yes. But with the standard “Wishlist”, such as white top / black bottom, thick countertop, “red glossy” and so on, IKEA has already thought of and provided for everything. Moreover, if you really want so much, you can always “finish everything with a file” (glue rhinestones, make stained glass, for example) ;

2. "Quality of the material." Based on my experience with kitchen appliances MDF facades From IKEA, I can say with confidence: they are durable, the paint has not peeled off, they can be washed / cleaned. By the way, their line also includes facades with natural oak veneer, which looks just great. In general, the IKEA Method kitchen catalog includes more than 20 facade options, plus color variations in some types;

3. The argument “a custom-made kitchen can be made to your size” is not an argument. In the new IKEA Method series, there is a wide range of cabinets, with a width that is a multiple of 20 cm (that is, 20, 40, 60 and 80 cm.) Not enough? Yes, such a variety can be arranged in any way;

4. "Appliances / worktops" from other manufacturers are not suitable. Suitable Read more.

As I mentioned above, I have been familiar with IKEA kitchens for 4 years. My first “dream kitchen” was the Faktum Lidingo series (the series was discontinued in 2014) - milky white, with 92 cm high glass wall cabinets and a black countertop. When moving to new house It was a tragedy for me to part with her. Therefore, my husband was given an ultimatum: either in the new house it will be the same (for three years she has never let me down, she only made me happy), or I refuse to move. He agreed, but at the end of the repair, one big problem emerged: along the wall along which the furniture was planned to be installed, there was a concrete curb 18 cm high and 19 cm wide, which made it impossible to put the bottom row of cabinets close to the wall, and, like, it was necessary to do kitchen to order. And here the experience of past years came in handy (see argument No. 3 about the countertop). In IKEA, the width of the countertop is 62 cm, against, for example, the countertop from Leroy, whose width is only 60 cm. It would seem that it does not fit. But no! Fits! A skilled craftsman perfectly installed it in our apartment, not forgetting about the overlap in front. A two-centimeter gap from the wall was perfectly closed with a plinth to match the tabletop. I'm sure all this can be done with the Method. Ikea countertops are sometimes a little short, but you want a whole one, right? . Here's how it looked:

installed "foreign" countertop

Therefore, with the new kitchen, the decision that the countertop would be “not native” did not bother us, because there were no other options. In the end, we bought an 80 cm wide solid worktop for our new kitchen, and everything is fine.

Now about technology. Succumbing to the price hike panic at the end of 2014 (remember when the dollar jumped?), we, knowing that we would be moving this year, bought a Bosh built-in dishwasher in advance, “at the old prices”, and she was waiting in the wings. That's what I've been waiting for. When designing the kitchen at IKEA, we were warned that there was a high (“almost 90%”) chance that it would not fit into the Method, the door would not close. But we decided to try. And what do you think? Yes, with a creak, but it was possible to install it in the Method. True, there is one caveat: look, 8 cm space has formed between the countertop and the PMM lid, that is, it has risen lower than necessary. But she got up. My husband still can’t get around to making a shelf for me there for pans, I need to remind him.

Well, right now about my new kitchen. My love for the facades of Lidingo remained the same, and in the Method series there were almost the same facades under the new name "Budbin" in dairy and gray color. My husband decided to “change something” and insisted on gray facades, and I did not object.

On the IKEA website, you can plan your own kitchen without waiting in line for a consultant. Just when we came to buy it, there was a terrible hype (it was April-May 2015, just when we got to the debut of this new series). People lined up for a day or two. I mastered the site myself and came to the consultants prepared. I was given a place at the computer and there I already managed within 30 minutes. Then, with a consultant, we removed everything unnecessary and EVERYTHING. The kitchen could be paid for and taken away. How fast!

About the features of the Method series

The line of facades has expanded. My Budbin is "run in" on Faktum, the quality is excellent.

Austrian fittings Blum, available for Faktum, changed to another, more expensive (Maximer) and cheaper (Forvara). Having saved on small things, such as, for example, interior lighting, I decided to take Maksimera. Having been operating the kitchen for more than a year, I can state with confidence that it works flawlessly. Nothing loosened, no creaks.

The width of the cabinets has become a multiple of 20 cm. Here is a small minus. The 20 cm drawer is narrow. There is little that can be put into it, 30 cm was better.

Do you like IKEA kitchens? Now their assortment has completely changed in the Belarusian catalog, a new IKEA METOD kitchen system has appeared. It has been developed for 2 years, and its main achievement is its full compliance with the needs of modern customers. What is interesting in the new IKEA kitchens? How do they differ from the usual FAKTUM? All this is in our detailed review with a large number of examples of ready-made solutions.

What is IKEA Method kitchens and how do they differ from others

The name was chosen for a reason. Admit it, what do you miss the most in typical kitchen sets? Design variety? Universal design that will fit into any room? Or maybe the opportunity to complement the existing kitchen with new cabinets and shelves? We are in a hurry to please you - the IKEA METHOD series has it all (details - just below). The methodical fulfillment of the incredible desires of designers and all the requests of practical buyers - now these are not just words!

New modular system - IKEA Method Kitchens

So, how does METOD differ from conventional kitchen cabinets and from the former FAKTUM system?

1. Mobility. First of all - amazing mobility. The design is based on the modular principle, as in children's constructor: connect what you want and how you want. A sort of "Lego" for creative adults.

2. All kinds of sizes. The new IKEA kitchen furniture is a set of various sizes in width (20, 40, 60, 80 cm), corresponding to world standards and 2 height options - for floor cabinets. Thanks to this, the METHOD solves those tasks that seemed impossible. Is the kitchen in the attic or under the stairs? Not a problem - take all the space up to the ceiling with cabinets, and there will be much more storage space.

3. Multilevel. All cabinets are perfectly combined into a single ensemble. This applies to both hanging and floor cabinets - different heights allow you to create multi-level work surfaces. Including - thanks to the legs of different heights. This is especially true for those who cook more than one. Or for those who want to use the space to the maximum.

4. Combination with other rooms. IKEA also supports the current trend - combining the kitchen with other rooms. And in the METHOD series there are many universal cabinets that fit in any room. A kitchen-dining room, a kitchen-living room, and even a kitchen-entrance hall (for owners of the smallest apartments) - now all this is easy to do.

Two colors of cabinet bodies - white and black-brown (especially for those who do not like "sterile" kitchens). And this means that such cabinets will fit in any interior, including those combined with other rooms. And at the same time, it will not be necessary to purchase additional overhead panels! However, if you want variety colors- overhead panels are also in this system.

IMPORTANT! And the METHOD is incredibly easy to assemble. Unlike FAKTUM kitchens, even one person without special skills can manage here, because the kit includes a special wall bar, on which the cabinets are hung. Now you will save not only on custom-made furniture, but also on assembly.

And, besides, lovers of bright colors will like a novelty in kitchen furniture - open modules with color inserts. More about this - just below. And IKEA designers took care of additional lighting for their new kitchens. Lighting the top or bottom of hanging cabinets, illuminating shelves behind glass doors or drawers - all this is much easier to do today than before.

As for the FAKTUM kitchens, they have already been withdrawn from sale, but within 6 months from the start of METOD (until 10/1/2015), their elements can be ordered (subject to availability in warehouses). The standard 25 year warranty covers both systems. A few words about facades (doors). Almost all the old design options are in the new system. But there were also novelties, the analogue of which had not yet been. How can METOD kitchen systems be used in practice? There are many options, and we will show here the most interesting ones. The names are further - according to the IKEA name of the doors (= kitchen facades).

Four kitchen tours The IKEA method with matte white doors

Economical white matt fronts (called WEDDINGE in the new IKEA kitchens) are perfectly combined with other doors. What can you now see in the examples different cuisines.

WEDDINGE + FLADY + TUTEMO

The snow-white matt facades of WEDINGE create the perfect basis for something bright. And the green doors of FLADI and the open color modules of TUTEMO are an excellent backdrop for your favorite little things. The flexible design of the cabinets made it possible to place them above the stairs, and bright colors made this kitchen a true gem of the house.

Here's what else a combination of white WEDDINGE facades and colored TUTEMO modules might look like:

FLADY

At first glance, the most simple kitchen. But look how FLADI's colorful green facades refresh it! Part of the cabinets were put on legs - so they look lighter and more modern. The kitchen is good not only externally, but also internally - each cabinet and drawer is equipped with convenient shelves and dividers.

Other combinations of bright FLADY doors (matte green or red) + white WEDDINGE:

HITTAN + WEDDINGE

And here the kitchen is at all in unusual place- under the stairs. Kitchen cabinets and fronts of different sizes fit perfectly into this impromptu pantry. The cabinet frame was combined with the countertop, and we got a compact kitchen island. And the HITTAN facades with wood texture are ideally combined with the rest of the furniture in the room and the white doors of WEDDINGE.

BROCKHULT + THINGSRID + BJERKET + WEDDINGE

Another combination of METHOD that allows you to see the variety of options for white matt facades - they are easy to combine with anything. Including - immediately with three (!) Variants of a different door design.

In the photo: Cabinet combinations in the IKEA Kitchen

Please note: there are ceiling bevels that would be useless dust collectors in a typical kitchen. But not in the kitchen METHOD! Here, every square centimeter of the wall is used to the maximum. Display shelves METHOD and HORDA for your favorite dishes, modules with textured doors (THINGSRID - dark brown, BROKHULT - gray-brown walnut, BJERKET - birch), a narrow side rack - and all this fits perfectly into the bevels.

Two IKEA kitchens Method with glossy doors

BROCKHULT + RINGHULT

And this kitchen will appeal to fans of eco style. Light-coloured BROKHULT walnut-look fronts pair perfectly with snow-white countertops and glossy doors upper cabinets RINGHULT, forming a soft yet fresh ensemble. In addition - white open shelves. Kitchen appliances are hidden behind the same facades, which gives the kitchen a unified style.

RINGULT + GERRESTAD

In the previous version, you saw a white gloss. Now let's show red. Bright red glossy facades RINGULT create a festive mood. And the geometric ornament on the GERRESTAD doors (a novelty that IKEA has not yet had an analogue of) brings an unexpected accent and creates an excellent contrast.

The result is a wonderful cuisine that lovers will love. modern style, including - thanks to the spectacular long handles.

Three options for new IKEA kitchens for fans of the classics

SEVEDAL

Someone loves modern furniture, while others prefer the classics. These classic white kitchen also made on the basis of the METOD system. To recreate the hostess's favorite style, doors with SEVEDAL glass were used, thanks to which the kitchen looks expensive and solid.

HITARP

Another classic METOD kitchen, but with a touch of retro. The classic facades of HITARP with moldings are complemented by interesting elements. A wooden module for dishes, black metal rails and a faucet, a ceramic sink - all this turns the kitchen into a charming corner of antiquity.

But old-fashioned doesn't mean uncomfortable. Each of the MAXIMERA drawers is complemented by practical accessories that make it easy to keep a variety of contents in order.

BUDBIN

Pay attention to how much everything fits in this small METOD kitchen! All thanks to a competent solution: cabinets in a row one above the other. Glass doors are combined with deaf ones, forming a very interesting composition. Opposite - open shelves for small things that should always be at hand.

Looking at this kitchen, few people will think that gray is boring. Especially effectively combined with internal lighting.

Interesting combinations of different kitchen fronts METHOD

Now we offer to see how one can be combined spectacular option doors with others (complementary).

BROCKHULT + WEDDINGE (RINGULT, GERRESTAD)

If you like simple textured door design walnut(BROKHULT), it can be easily combined with the three white fronts. WEDDINGE - matte, RINGULT - glossy, GERRESTAD - geometric pattern "white on white".

JUTIS + WEDDINGE (RINGULT)

If you are attracted by the glamorous design of doors for upper cabinets - with dark glass and black frames (YUTIS), see how harmoniously it is combined with two options for white facades - matte or glossy.

RINGHULT + ERSTA

Another interesting IKEA novelty in the world of kitchen doors is bright yellow ERSTA. See what a fresh spring mood is born by combining them with the glossy facades of RINGHULT. The photo shows examples of 2 different cuisines.

TINGSRID + ERSTA

And this is the opposite, but no less effective option. The same glossy yellow doors in combination with the dark TINGSRID wood are an example of modern elegance with a touch of Italian chic. The photos show examples of 4 different METOD kitchens.

In conclusion, a few more words about the practical side

You will surely agree that not only beauty is important, but order in the kitchen. After all, it is much easier to maintain it when everything has its own department, right? Whether you want to put one cup on each of the miniature shelves, arrange a showcase with lighting or make a universal cabinet for every little thing - all this is doable with METOD systems. For more convenience and better organization, cabinets can be added drawers MAXIMERA and FORVARA, and the boxes themselves - VARIERA accessories. Now, behind one sliding door, several completely different drawers can be hidden. Create a combination that will be as convenient as possible for you personally and finally write out a one-way ticket to the kitchen mess!

We hope that you liked our detailed review of all kinds of novelties about the IKEA Method kitchens. Happy choice!

IKEA METOD kitchens are furniture that meets three main principles - versatility, mobility and practicality. This is a constructor that allows you to assemble kitchen set any layout and functionality.

Kitchen "Hitarp"

On the official website you can find the modular parts of this system in the section "Cabinets and facades METHOD". Link to catalog 2019 - https://www.ikea.com/ru/ru/catalog/categories/departments/kitchen/24254/

Catalog section 2019 IKEA with modular kitchens METOD

A huge plus of the METOD system is the availability of a free online designer. Any buyer without special skills in working with such programs can assemble a kitchen by choosing the type of cabinet, frame, front panel, etc. on their own.

Planning can be done free of charge (subject to further purchase) with a store specialist if you suddenly have any difficulties.

Module dimensions

As part of this system, the company produces modules of several possible sizes:

  • width: 20, 40, 60, 80 cm;
  • frame height 80 or from 140 cm (pencil cases, sideboards and high cabinets for built-in appliances)
  • depth: 61-62 cm and 38-40 cm.

The standardization of IKEA furniture sizes is both an advantage and a disadvantage of the METOD system.

On the one hand, typical parameters allow you to assemble a headset yourself by selecting modules of the desired type and functionality.

On the other hand, the system does not take into account design features premises.

Small kitchen with a U-shaped set METHOD (gray facades "Budbin")

Despite the shortcomings, the IKEA METOD system still remains one of the most popular among buyers. A wide range of sizes allows you to assemble a set that will suit most kitchens in apartments or private houses. This corresponds to the main principle - universality.

Kitchen IKEA METHOD "Ringult" (gloss) in the Khrushchev apartment

Another important principle - practicality, is expressed in the ability to quickly and easily replace the necessary elements - frame, plank, cornice, etc. This is convenient and practical in case of damage to individual parts or if you want to update the kitchen interior that has become boring over the years inexpensively and without any hassle.

A METOD kitchen can be composed of several functional and additional parts:

  • frames of floor and wall cabinets;
  • countertop;
  • plinths and legs;
  • overhead panels, planks, cornices.

A series of videos on how to assemble a METOD kitchen from IKEA with your own hands, see below:

Facades METHOD: style and color of the future kitchen

Facades define the finished look of the kitchen. Here you can find doors for lower and upper cabinets, front panels for dishwashers, drawer fronts.

On the IKEA website, the dimensions corresponding to the frames are selected from the drop-down list in the product card.

Because Since IKEA has Swedish roots, it is not surprising that most of the options are exactly that. But some are also suitable for kitchens in the style of minimalism, Provence, neoclassic, modern, hi-tech and even loft.

Kitchens METOD with combined facades "Kallarp" and "Ersta"

Frameworks and examples of layouts

This is the basis or background of the future METOD kitchen.

The bottom row is represented by modules with a height of 80 cm or tall cabinets from 140 cm. Let's look at examples of what options can be with real photo in the interior.

Kitchen METOD with open shelves

Kitchens from IKEA are not only stylish, but also easy to assemble. I decided to test it on my own experience, and now I am sharing it with you. In this article, you will learn about the difficulties that can await you from the moment the kitchen is delivered to the return of excess parts. If you are just thinking about buying a kitchen, it will be useful to read the first two parts: and.

The kitchen was brought

When the movers begin to bring the details of the future kitchen into your apartment, count the goods: even if several items are bundled, their number is signed. If something is mixed up, you can arrange an exchange or return, but if you do not get enough parts after the movers leave, IKEA warns of disclaiming responsibility. I decided not to count the units of goods at my own peril and risk, there were a lot of them - it is worth paying tribute to the IKEA delivery service, everything turned out to be in place and in the right quantity.

Assembly

Should I order an assembly from IKEA? Professionals will definitely cope with the task faster, they will set everything up, adjust and install the sink and appliances. However, there must be suitable conditions for assembly: for example, concrete walls on which lockers are hung without problems. With our PVC panels, the situation is much more complicated, which served as an additional argument for self assembly, in addition to having two skilled men in the family, an interest in manual work and saving money.

Kitchens from IKEA have detailed instructions and are assembled almost like a Lego constructor, simply and with pleasure. There are two fixings for bottom cabinets: wall rail and adjustable feet. If you combine both, it will turn out as reliably as possible, but only legs can be used. We only had problems installing the dishwasher: it stands on its own platform and adjusting the height flush with the rest of the doors turned out to be a real pain.

The scheduler advised me to put "decorative strips", i.e. plugs or voids between cabinets, closed on the facade with a piece of decorative panel. It was thought to mount them on both sides of the stove and one in the place where the kitchen forms a corner. The consultant left me only one plug at the stove and one in the corner. When we assembled the kitchen, we abandoned all of them: they need to be cut out of a large and rather thin sheet, and we did not understand at all how to fix them between cabinets and why they were needed there. The absence of plugs has not caused any problems during the operation of the kitchen for three months already, the doors open without problems, although the contents of neighboring cabinets heat up slightly when the oven is operating. The IKEA guide only uses planks between the furniture and the wall: if you have an extra 5-15 centimeters of kitchen length left, so as not to leave a large gap between the outer cabinet and the wall.

As a result, during the assembly, we strongly deviated from the original plan. My kitchen is L-shaped: the long side is 60 cm deep and the short side is 37 cm to save space. Initially, we took two countertops, but it turned out that the piece of countertop cut out under the sink fits perfectly in size to the narrow part of the kitchen. We gladly made a table out of the second countertop, installing it on the cabinets that we planned to make hinged, and open shelves were hung on the walls above the countertop. If you are as spontaneous as I am, you will love that you can change the planned look of the kitchen right at the time of assembly. Afraid that extra details will remain? There is a return policy for this.

Return

We found where to adapt some of the extra parts, but a lot remained: 2 doors, legs, rails for mounting upper cabinets, a panel for a blank and a pair of side decorative panels. We went to return it all to IKEA.

All of our extra items were unused, many in unopened packaging. But IKEA for a whole year also accepts those things that you have already collected, and then for some reason you did not need them. Disassemble, take the check and take it to the return department. We got our money back very quickly and with no questions asked. It turned out that in IKEA it is more convenient to take parts for the kitchen in reserve, and then bring them back, than to reorder any elements.
