Christmas tree stencil for sawing out of plywood. Beautiful plywood Christmas decorations: do-it-yourself decorations using a jigsaw

Christmas tree decorations were the first of their kind. Later they learned how to make glass products, and plastic came into use relatively recently. Despite the diversity modern materials for production, Christmas-tree decorations from do not lose their relevance and return to New Year's trees.

Why you should get a plywood Christmas tree toy

Home collections are mostly filled with modern plastic decorations that are bought every year, or antique glass balls and figurines that our mothers and grandmothers used to decorate Christmas trees in childhood. Christmas decorations made of plywood are almost never found.

Why it is worth getting a couple of plywood sheet toys:

  • original decoration self made will not be found anywhere else;
  • Possibility to decorate the Christmas tree according to your taste;
  • An occasion to do craftsmanship and make a toy with your own hands, an opportunity to entertain a child and spend time together;
  • New product at least every day;
  • A bunch of positive emotions from the result.

Christmas decorations do not lose their relevance for several seasons: they not only decorate a tree, but also hang them on walls, doors, and give them to each other. Crafts can also be made specifically for a gift or sale to those who wish to receive exclusive New Year's attributes.

We make crafts with our own hands

As already mentioned, making your own jewelry is much more valuable than acquiring ready-made typical toys. This is a very simple process, it is enough to acquire necessary material, tool and connect fantasy.

Why do we choose plywood sheets as a material for Christmas toys:

  • You can use old trim sheets used for construction;

  • Crafts can be of any size;
  • Christmas decorations made of plywood do not break, do not break, they can be safely given to children.

So let's get started.

Preparation of the workplace and tools

In order to make a Christmas tree decoration with our own hands, we will use a small workbench or in extreme cases kitchen table, previously covered with thick oilcloth. In order not to damage the countertop, we recommend laying a plywood sheet on it.

For cutting you will need:

  • Manual or electric jigsaw (whichever one is available);
  • Drill with a set of drills;
  • Fine sandpaper;
  • To securely fix the fragments, it is ideal to use hot glue from an electric gun. In extreme cases, prepare wood glue and PVA;
  • Acrylic paints and clear fixing varnish of the same material;
  • Decorations: paper, beads, polyethylene crumbs, trimmings of tinsel and satin ribbons, foil, ready-made images of New Year and Christmas themes - this item is limited only by your imagination.

Option 1: a regular Christmas tree decoration

Ordinary Christmas decorations made of plywood are flat, in the form of various fairy-tale characters, traditional New Year's attributes and heroes. To accurately and accurately cut the desired contour, prepare image templates in advance. They can be drawn on paper or downloaded from the Internet, printed and cut out.

  1. Transfer the image to a plywood sheet - circle the template.

  1. Armed with a jigsaw, cut out the toy along the drawn outline. When working with an electric tool, there are no problems, the process goes smoothly even for an inexperienced student.

FROM hand jigsaw more difficult: the file must be directed strictly along the contour so that the hand does not tremble and the blade does not jump off and cut off the excess. For a mechanical tool, prepare replacement files in advance.

  1. Use a drill to drill a hole in the top of the toy.

  1. Use sandpaper to process the saw cuts, focusing on the resulting chips.
  2. Now decoration. If Christmas toys are supposed to be objects of natural wood color, then skip this paragraph. If you want to create a complete decorative effect, cover the workpiece with white acrylic enamel - it will become the background for future decorations. When the layer dries, apply the main pattern with paints.

  1. If you don’t want to paint the craft yourself, glue the finished picture cut out of paper or cardboard to the blank. For fixing, use PVA glue diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 1.

  1. Stage of volumetric decoration. Beads, decorative snow, tinsel, foil come into play - everything that fantasy aims at. Fix these decorations with hot glue or transparent carpentry. At the end, cover the surface of the craft with acrylic varnish to fix the result.

  1. Thread a satin rope into the hole and tie a knot or a beautiful bow - the toy for decorating the spruce is ready.

Option 2: Volumetric Decoration

By this concept we mean Christmas tree decorations made of several parts or those that can be placed.

Do-it-yourself compound Christmas tree crafts are no more difficult to make than flat ones, on the contrary, the process becomes more exciting.

  1. We take the same base material and transfer the template to it.

  1. For complex products, we make markings for holes according to the scheme.
  2. Cut out the contour, clean the edges.
  3. We connect fragments. If the toy is flat composite, we use ribbons or nylon threads for connection, which we tie into strong double or triple knots. If the toy is on a support, we work with the blanks according to the instructions, for example, we insert the parts into each other.
  4. The decor of individual fragments can be done immediately after harvesting individual elements or after assembly. In any case, the workpiece is subject to the same processing as a flat toy: enamel, picture, drawing, three-dimensional decor, varnish fixation.

Volumetric plywood Christmas decorations can be used not only for hanging on New Year's trees, but also as an independent toy for a child as a gift.

A homemade thing, especially made of wood, can keep a child busy for a longer time than modern expensive toys, and interest in it remains for a longer time. This is another argument in favor of making plywood products useful.

Garland

Christmas tree beads are an element as important as the toys themselves. Here we also include elegant garlands for a tree or a room. They can also be made of plywood according to the same principle as described above.

A few tips:

  1. The garland for the Christmas tree should be made in a simple way so that the decoration fits organically into the overall composition. Choose from flags, circles and more simple shapes. This will help save time - there will be a lot of elements for cutting and decorating.
  2. Use satin ribbons and decorative strings to connect the elements to appearance products remained solemn.
  3. To fix the fragments on a string, tie knots at the location of the element. So he will maintain his position with any slope of the thread.
  4. Draw the ends of the rope into loops so that it is convenient to hang the garland.

What are the results

A couple of hours of work, satisfaction from the perfect process and pleasure from the result - all the emotions in a plywood toy. Add the attention of households and guests to a handmade product and success is guaranteed. Handmade products never go out of fashion, they are passed down from generation to generation, carrying a piece of memory with them. Have you ever seen such a set of values and emotions contained in a mass-produced plastic toy?

A Christmas tree in the house during the New Year holidays is a wonderful tradition that has been followed by more than one generation for a long time. This tree, decorated with shiny toys and sparkling garlands, invariably causes awe and delight in the hearts of children and adults.

Despite the huge popularity of a live Christmas tree, many still decorate their home with its artificial counterpart in order to preserve green spaces. coniferous trees. Therefore, in recent times alternative Christmas trees have come into fashion, thanks to the inexhaustible imagination of decorators made from a wide variety of materials. Among them you can find designs made of wire, fabric, feathers, plastic, paper, glass and wood.

Today's article is dedicated to unusual option a wooden Christmas tree, because we are sure that such a tree can be a very effective solution.

Wooden Christmas trees

Maybe you recently changed the flooring from the boards, dismantled wooden table on shaky legs, or in the back room of the house, unnecessary boxes are stored. All this can be reused to create an original New Year's decor.

It is not necessary to have any special skills to put together a cone-shaped flat structure, and you can style the Christmas tree according to your idea of \u200b\u200bwhat it should be.

For example:

  • Naive, as in drawn Soviet cartoons, covered with half-worn paint

  • From raw boards, installed directly on the floor or leaning against the wall, with a minimum of decorations
  • With a clear geometric shape and a sparkling garland, in a group of several simple Christmas trees with original homemade decorations

  • Stacked construction

The Christmas tree, made entirely of wooden elements, is able to resemble a traditional one with its silhouette, thanks to its three-dimensional design. And it’s not at all difficult to create such a one, because all that is needed is a cruciform base with a high metal pin in the center, on which thin boards or branches of different lengths are strung in turn from bottom to top in descending order.

It is noteworthy that decorating a type-setting wooden Christmas tree is a pleasure. glass balls and the figurines are simply hung at the ends of the boards, the decorative figurines can simply be glued to them with double-sided tape, and the tablet candles can be placed in pre-formed recesses.

  • "Layout" of the Christmas tree

As evidence of great potential wooden structures, here is another easy way to create an ornamental tree. In this form, trees are most often recreated in reduced copies of parks, squares with models of residential and public buildings at the design stage.

Therefore, it seems to us interesting idea embodying the outlines of a New Year's tree following the example of objects made of papier-mâché and cardboard. It is possible to repeat each of the options below on your own at home.

The Christmas tree consists of two identical pieces of medium thickness plywood, which are connected to each other thanks to the central cuts. In one part of the tree in its center, a thin strip (equal to the thickness of a plywood sheet) is cut from the base to the middle of the height of the tree, in the other part - from the top to the middle, with the help of which the structure is securely fixed.

A more detailed master class can be found in our article "".

  • A three-dimensional model of a Christmas tree made not entirely from wood, but rather from its derivative material - cardboard. Several fragments of the same size and shape are folded in half lengthwise, and then glued together at the folds, forming a single figured model.

  • Table decorative Christmas trees

Your imagination is the most useful assistant in the task of translating ideas on the theme of miniature wooden Christmas trees. In the event that it is enough, we suggest referring to our photo selection.

The remains of plywood, fiberboard, MDF will serve as materials for table decor for the New Year holidays and Christmas, and in order to preserve the characteristic texture of wood, we recommend limiting yourself to a small amount of decorations or a thin layer of acrylic paints.

Master class: whatnot - Christmas tree

If the household has a mechanical jigsaw, it can be used to construct a completely charming Christmas tree, which, moreover, can be used as a wall shelf or table shelf.

So, before you get started, you need to prepare:

  1. Sheet of thin plywood
  2. Mechanical jigsaw (or manual, if it is not difficult for you to work with it)
  3. wood glue
  4. Roulette
  5. simple pencil
  6. Acrylic paint, brush

Step 1:

On a sheet of plywood, you should draw an isosceles triangle - the basis of the future Christmas tree. To do this, measure with a tape measure a horizontal line 40 cm long at the bottom of the sheet. Then, from its middle (20 cm), draw up a strictly vertical line 60 cm long. From the resulting vertex, draw two segments down to the ends of the horizontal line.

Step 2:

We make blanks for the sides and shelves of the Christmas tree. We measure the lengths of its base and sides, and then, visually divide the structure into three equal parts horizontally, thanks to which the Christmas tree will have two shelves in the upper and lower parts. (Do not forget to measure the trunk fragment and sides for it)

Step 3:

Depending on how deep you want to make your Christmas tree, you should draw all the necessary blanks with the indicated lengths and a total width of 5-10 cm rectangles.

Step 4:

Using a jigsaw, you need to cut a triangular blank and all the rectangles from a sheet of plywood. Using wood glue, gradually glue the rectangles to the sides of the base, applying their ends perpendicularly. After that, in the intervals between the sides we glue the shelves.

Step 5:

We glue the trunk with sides to the Christmas tree last, after the back bar is attached.

Step 6:

We let the glue dry, check the reliability of the bond and cover the structure with two layers of acrylic paint.

To make it, you will need a piece of plywood and some decoration materials.

materials

  • plywood, 3 mm, 30 x 20 cm;
  • dye;
  • brushes;
  • varnish for wood;

  • hand tools for cutting and processing wood.

The size of the tree will be small. Its base is 14 cm in diameter and 20 cm high.

Step 1. You will need to transfer the given template to a piece of plywood and cut out the constituent parts. It is most convenient and fastest to load the template into a laser cutting machine, in the absence of such, transfer the template manually and carefully cut everything. Work especially carefully with a spiral that imitates the crown of a tree.

Step 2. After cutting out the parts, process them so that there are no protrusions and roughness anywhere on the surface.

Step 3. Take a part that imitates a tree trunk and thread its top into the groove in the center of the spiral.

Step 4. Gently straighten the spiral, lowering it down to the base of the trunk. Insert the lower part of the crown into the side grooves on the trunk.

Step 5. Fasten the star to the top of the tree by inserting it into the prepared groove.

Step 6. You can start decorating the Christmas tree. There are several options here. The Christmas tree can be left in its natural form by simply varnishing it. You can color her and star on her in traditional colors, and if you want to give the figurine festivity and solemnity, add a little sparkle of the appropriate shade on top of the paint.

Ready! At the end of the holidays, the figurine is also easy to disassemble and fold until the next New Year.
