The moist, warm air in the bathroom is an ideal environment for the active reproduction of harmful bacteria, fungus and mold. Not knowing how to get rid of them, a cosmetic problem can turn into a health hazard.

Folk remedies for fighting fungus in the bathroom

  • copper sulphate solution. It is applied only with a brush, with gentle movements. The manufacturer always indicates on the label how to properly dilute copper sulfate.
  • Concentrated chlorine solution. The agent is mixed in a ratio of 1:1. In addition to high efficiency, this composition has a very pungent odor, so after processing the bathroom, it must be well ventilated.
  • Tea tree oil. Dissolve a couple of drops of essential oil in 500 ml of water and apply the product on the surface affected by the fungus. You do not need to rinse off the product, just wait 12 hours for the oil to act on the spores of the fungus and you can take a shower again.
  • A mixture of vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and boric acid. All ingredients are mixed in a ratio of 4:2:2. The composition must be carefully rubbed into the surface and left for several hours.

  • Antiseptic "Anti-fungus". They are treated with surfaces during repair work and at the initial stage of development of fungi.

  • If the room is not warm enough, install an electric heated towel rail. It will not only solve the problem of wet towels, but also increase the air temperature.

  • Do not allow puddles of water to remain on the shower floor.
  • Replace old cast-iron pipes with modern metal-plastic ones. They do not accumulate condensation.
