List of countries by gas production in the world: 10 largest leaders

Natural gas, which is the cleanest type of fossil fuel, is widely used as a fuel in residential buildings for heating, water heating and cooking, as well as a fuel for cars, boilers and thermal power plants. The leading positions in gas production are occupied by Russia and the United States, while they have repeatedly changed places, alternately returning leadership. Gas, located in microscopic voids, is extracted from the bowels of the earth using wells. Under normal conditions (101.325 kPa and 0 C), natural gas is only in a gaseous state, but it can also be in a crystalline state.

Our list of countries by gas production in the world is based on the annual statistical bulletin of OPEC. British Petroleum also publishes the annual Statistical Review of World Energy. At the same time, despite the discrepancies in the data of the received gas (for example, according to OPEC, the United States produced 751.063 billion cubic meters in 2017, according to British Petroleum 749.2), the first 9 leading countries coincide. The situation is more complicated with the 10th place: the first claim that this is Turkmenistan with 81.765 billion cubic meters / year, the second call Australia with 91.2 billion cubic meters / year.

1. USA (751 bcm/year)

The bowels of North America, in which this country is located, have large reserves of natural gas and oil. As of 2013, there were 383 natural gas wells operating in the United States, 38 oil and gas basins are located on their territory, and 14 more promise to become them. The vast natural gas reserves of the United States are estimated at 10.44 trillion cubic meters, which is 5.2% of the world's total reserves. The Americans have especially advanced in the production of shale gas, here we mean such large deposits as Point Thomson and Marcellus in Alaska and Haynesville.

5% of gas is produced on the North American continental shelf (in that part of it that is under US jurisdiction). The main gas producers in the US are Exxon Mobil and BP, they are among the top ten similar companies in the world.

2. Russia (642 bcm/year)

Russia is located in most of Eastern Europe and all of northern Asia. On its vast territory there are huge reserves of natural hydrocarbons. 47.8 trillion cubic meters of these resources are already proven, which is about 24% of the world's reserves. In the economy of modern Russia, the export of natural gas has become a priority.

9 largest gas fields are located in this country. Over 60% of gas reserves are located in Western Siberia (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), the North Caucasus, the Volga region and the Urals. The produced gas is transmitted through a unified gas supply system, the length of the gas pipeline network is over 140,000 km. Gas production is monopolized by Gazprom, which accounts for 95% of the entire production of this resource in the country.

3. Iran (227 bcm/year)

The Islamic Republic of Iran is located in Western Asia. It also boasts huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources. On the coastal shelf in the Persian Gulf there is a huge gas field South Pars, and in total this country has almost 17% of the world's gas reserves. After the lifting of international sanctions in the country, the production of blue fuel increased sharply, and the market for its sale expanded. Agreements were reached with Iraq on the supply of Iranian gas to the capital of the neighboring country, Baghdad. Over the past year, Iran's gas exports have increased by 5 million cubic meters.

There are other hydrocarbon deposits in Iran: gas condensate Kengan, oil and gas Sardar Milli, gas Foroz, Khangiran and Khayyam, in addition, the Predzagros oil and gas region.

4. Qatar (183 bcm/year)

The Emirate of Qatar is located on the peninsula of the same name, which is part of the vast Arabian Peninsula. The proven reserves of natural gas controlled by this state amount to 24.5 trillion cubic meters or 12.2% of the world's gas reserves. Little Qatar has turned into the richest state thanks to the giant Northern field - if it is pumped out at the current rate, then it will last for 135 years. Gas production in the country is managed by the state-owned company Qatar Petroleum, which, after the lifting of the moratorium introduced in 2005, increased both production and export of LNG.

Saudi Arabia occupies almost the entire Arabian Peninsula, in the sands of which huge reserves of gas and oil are hidden. In the Rub al-Khali desert, in 2007, a new Tukhman field was discovered, located at a great depth (over 5 km). According to initial calculations, there is about a billion cubic meters of gas in Tukhman.

The Saudis also own a large offshore oil and gas field in the Persian Gulf, located at depths of 1.5 to 3 km. According to geologists' estimates, about 1 billion cubic meters of gas is also hidden in Gavar. The total reserves of blue fuel in Saudi Arabia are estimated at 8.5 trillion cubic meters, that is, 4.2% of the world's reserves. The basis of the country's economic power is the state corporation Saudi Aramco, which has monopoly control over the extraction and processing of hydrocarbons. A plan for economic transformation has been adopted here, according to which by 2020 natural gas production should increase to 504 million cubic meters.

9. Algeria (93 bcm/year)

Algeria is located in northern Africa, most of it is occupied by the Sahara desert, which also hides huge reserves of gas and oil. In 2009, another Ain-Tsila gas condensate field was discovered there, in which gas is located at a depth of 1.5-2 kilometers. The total proven gas reserves in this country are 4.5 trillion cubic meters, or 2.2% of the world's reserves. Gas is also being produced at the Hassi-R`Mel field. All production is controlled by the Sonatrak state corporation, it also owns production lines and the production of liquefied gas itself, located in the cities of Skikda and Arzev.

10. Turkmenistan (82 bcm/year)

Turkmenistan is located in Central Asia and has two oil and gas regions on its territory: the South Caspian oil and gas basin and the Turan oil and gas province. More than 220 oil, gas, condensate and oil and gas fields are collectively distributed in them. In total, 7.5 trillion cubic meters of gas (3.7% of world reserves) have been explored in the country.

The main one is the Galkynysh deposit, followed by the South Iolotan. Turkmenistan exports most of its gas to China, while Turkmens have to pay part of the proceeds for it to the same China as loan repayment. The economy in the country is unstable, almost entirely dependent on the export of energy resources, so the government of Turkmenistan intends to increase gas production several times, bringing it to 230 billion cubic meters.

Leading countries in gas production

It is impossible to overestimate the role of natural gas, which is in great demand and is declining catastrophically, given the global consumption volumes, it is impossible. The United States and Russia have become the leaders in gas production in the world, constantly competing for superiority and having hundreds of deposits of this wealth on their territories.

The annual production of shale gas by these two countries is 40% of the world's volumes. The United States has practically abandoned imported gas and is actively developing its territories by converting part of the gas production facilities for export purposes.

The instability of the world gas market, an increase in its exports to other countries and, as a result, a decrease in prices, forces Russia to cancel long-term gas supply contracts, constantly make concessions in prices to importing countries and develop new fields with less intensity.

The extraction of this raw material, although at a slower pace, is carried out on the territory of Qatar, Iran, SAO, Algeria and other countries.

The tendency to increase gas production, which began in the middle of the 20th century, has increased tenfold in our time. This is due to the increase in aviation, road, sea transport, the development of the chemical industry, which has increased tenfold in demand for electrical energy resources. The possibility in the near future to transfer a number of vehicles (including most of the cars) to a relatively inexpensive gas fuel has increased its world production several times over the past eight years, and has occupied the minds of scientists with the discovery of new deposits, accumulation forms and methods of gas production.

Data on gas production of conglomerate states vary. Each country maintains its own statistics, which are summarized for the year and published in print media. According to the reports of statistical agencies, over the past few years, the United States has quadrupled gas production in shale deposits, overtaking Russia, and is not going to slow down.

Only data on gas sold and actually consumed in the country can be recorded, the costs and utilization factor associated with production (losses during gas emissions into the atmosphere, combustion during production, etc.) are not taken into account. The utilization factor is the greater, the greater the degree of development of the gas industry.

By 2030, shale gas reserves (for which the standard deep well drilling method is used) will be at a critical limit in many countries. According to scientists, the world's reserves of this fuel are decreasing exponentially every year, and the rate of production predicts the depletion of the resource in 50-70 years. The issue of extraction of hydrated and mine methane gas becomes topical. Both varieties are currently only beginning to enter the field of study. Their production is associated with the construction of new drilling rigs and the development of new methods of gas purification from impurities.

Gas is the safest fuel in terms of environmental impact. When it is burned, a smaller amount of harmful volatile compounds is formed than from the combustion of other types of fuel. The main danger threatening humanity with an increase in gas production is a decrease in the species abundance of animals due to deforestation in the territories of gas fields, as well as erosion processes occurring under the influence of drilling.

    1. USA - the volume of production has grown over the past three years by 4 times and tends to increase. Due to this, they stopped almost completely importing gas into their territories. Main deposit:
  • Gulf Coast Basin Mining occurs in the rocky mountainous regions of eastern Texas and southern Arkansas. The depth of the gas is more than 3 kilometers.
  • Russia - the main deposits are located in Western Siberia and the Far East, they are unique in size, often associated with oil fields (gas is a by-product of oil production). Leaders among deposits:
    • Urengoy field - Western Siberia - the third largest in the world - reserves - 4.5 trillion. cube m., more than a thousand wells. Today, it is possible to extract gas only from very deep layers of sediments.
    • Markovskoye field - Eastern Siberia - 2.4 trillion. cube m.
    • Bovanenskoye field - Yamal Peninsula - 3.2 trillion. cube m., despite the recent development period, and a small volume of production, is considered very promising.
    • Ust-Vilyuiskoye deposits - Far East - 1.5 trillion. cube m.

Russia is the main gas exporting state in the world, and it has advantages over other producers due to two ways of supplying raw materials: by sea (gas is transported in liquid form) and through a gas pipeline.

    Gulf countries

Development is carried out on the territory of the Persian Gulf, which is divided by a tectonic fault into 2 parts. Both deposits are of different age of origin and are isolated from each other.

      1. Iran - South Pars - the northern part of the Gulf.
      2. Qatar - North Pars - the southern part of the Gulf.
      3. SAO - Gavar - the eastern part of the Persian Gulf. The depth of occurrence depends on the rock of the gas-bearing layer and ranges from 1 to 3 km.

Raw materials are exported in large quantities to most European countries.

    1. Canada - the main reserves are located in the northern province of Newfoundland, capture part of the Appalachian mountains - several gas fields. Most of the produced gas is exported to the United States.
    • Rainbow Lake is the southern part of the Canadian state.
  • PRC - the largest field is being developed in the southwestern part of China, in the Sichuan depression, which is located in a mountainous area. 50% of the extracted fuel is used to meet their needs
    • – Dazhou is one of the administrative centers in Sichuan province. Active importer of fuel - about 25 billion. cube m per year.
  • Norway - ranks second among European countries in the production of blue fuel - the Norwegian region of the North Sea is being developed at a fast pace.
    • - Troll West - the occurrence of fossil raw materials occurs at a depth of 400 meters, from at least three sources.
  • Algeria - one of the five largest exporters in the world, gas fields are separated from oil fields. The gas is clean in chemical composition (includes a minimum amount of impurities).
    • -Hassi-Rmel - location - north of Algeria.
  • Turkmenistan - has giant deposits. Actively exports gas fuel to Europe.
    • Galkynysh - location - southeast of Turkmenistan, includes three large deposits.

The largest deposits of natural gas are concentrated in the bowels of the UAE, allowing the state to firmly hold the fourth place in terms of the presence of reliable gas reserves in the Middle East. The volume of proven reserves is 6.091 trillion. m 3 (3.0% of world reserves). The oil and gas industry is managed by the state holding - Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The UAE has gas liquefaction and LNG regasification plants.

    6 Turkmenistan

    • Reserves of natural gas: 7.504 trillion m 3
    • From global reserves: 3,7 %

This country ranks sixth in terms of explored natural gas reserves in the world. Turkmenistan accounts for 7.504 trillion. m 3 (3.7% of all reserves). The leading field of the country is Galkynysh. The second largest gas pantry is South Iolotan. China is considered the main consumer of the gas segment of Turkmenistan, however, part of the proceeds from the supply of blue fuel to the Celestial Empire goes to repay credit obligations to Beijing. Despite the unstable economy, the government of Turkmenistan openly announced an increase in gas production and exports many times over, up to 230 billion m 3 .

    5 Saudi Arabia

    • Reserves of natural gas: 8.489 trillion m 3
    • From global reserves: 4,2 %

Saudi Arabia is the fifth largest owner of proven gas reserves in the world. Geological gas reserves in this state are estimated at 8.489 trillion m 3 (4.2% of all reserves). The dominant role in the kingdom's economy belongs to the state corporation - Saudi Aramco, which controls the entire gas and oil industry. According to the National Economic Transformation Plan, by 2020 Saudi Arabia plans to increase natural gas production to 504 million m 3 .

    4 USA

    • Reserves of natural gas: 10.440 trillion m 3
    • From global reserves: 5,2 %

The United States has the largest natural gas reserves in the world, which amount to 10.440 trillion m 3 (5.2% of all reserves). The country is the leader in terms of the number of explored shale hydrocarbon deposits. The most impressive deposits in terms of volume are Hainsville, Marcellus and Point Thomson in Alaska. According to an EIA (Energy Information Administration) report, by 2018 the US will become a net exporter of the gas industry.

    3 Qatar

    • Reserves of natural gas: 24.530 trillion m 3
    • From global reserves: 12,2 %

This small state, located in the Middle East, is one of the leaders in the gas industry. The proven reserves of blue "gold" are measured by the following figures - 24.530 trillion. m 3 (12.2% of world reserves). Qatar is the richest country in the world, and this is not surprising, because it is here that the giant Northern field is located, the resources of which are calculated for 135 years, while maintaining current production rates. According to the management of the state company Qatar Petroleum, Qatar is increasing natural gas production and LNG exports in connection with the lifting of the moratorium introduced in 2005.

    2 Iran

    • Reserves of natural gas: 34.020 trillion m 3
    • From global reserves: 16,9 %

"Silver" in the ranking of countries goes to the Islamic state of Western Asia, which has 34.020 trillion. m 3 of proven reserves of blue fuel. In the waters of the Persian Gulf, there is a super-powerful gas field - South Pars, thanks to which natural gas reserves in Iran account for 16.9% of the world's. The lifting of sanctions served to increase gas production and expand the sales market. According to the agreements reached, Iran resumed gas supplies to the capital of Iraq, the city of Baghdad, and starting from June 2017, increased gas exports by 5 million m3.

    1 Russia

    • Reserves of natural gas: 47.800 trillion m 3
    • From global reserves: 23,9 %

The Russian Federation is at the head of the ranking of the leading countries in terms of natural gas reserves. 47.800 trillion are concentrated in the bowels of the state. m 3 of proven resources. The export of natural gas is a priority in the country's economy, which accounts for 23.9% of the world's reserves. Giant fields are located in three oil and gas basins of the country, namely: West Siberian, Volga-Ural and Timan-Pechora. Given the growing popularity of liquefied hydrocarbons, Gazprom has successfully implemented projects for the construction of LNG plants. Among the first launched a large-scale enterprise - "Sakhalin-2".

The recent lifting of sanctions on Iran will create another major seller in the gas market. But even without this country, there are enough states that extract and export natural resources in huge quantities. Let's remember which countries are leaders in gas production? In today's world politics, this information is more relevant than ever.

Gas reserves: 4.5 trillion cubic meters

Algeria ranks 10th in world gas production. The amount of gas in this North African country is 2.5% of the world's reserves. And half of this number is mined at the Hassi R'Mey field, located in the southeast of the country. Gas companies such as Total and Shell have been operating in the country for decades.
Gas production is carried out by three plants with 15 production lines. Two of them are located in the city of Arzev and one in the city of Skikda.

Gas reserves: 5.1 trillion cubic meters

This country ranks first in gas production on the African continent. Also, it is a member of OPEC. And this despite the fact that Nigeria has a high level of corruption, political instability, a weak economy and a poorly developed infrastructure. Nigeria is a country very dependent on gas, because the profit from its exports is 95% of income in foreign currency. In 2010, Nigeria became a leader in the export of liquefied natural gas. After all, the volume of this exported natural resource is 21.9 million tons.

Gas reserves: 5.6 trillion cubic meters

The gas reserves of this country, which occupies the 8th place in the list of leaders in the extraction of minerals, make up 2.9% of the world. But most of them are gas associated with oil. Most of the deposits are located in Norte De Pario (an area north of Trinidad and Tobago). But the gas sector in Venezuela is not very developed, which holds back its development. The main gas pipelines are owned by PDVSA GAS.

Gas reserves: 6.1 trillion cubic meters

Most of the country's gas reserves are located in its capital, Dubai. Oil fields are located there, there is a gas reserve "Khuff". In 1977, the first LPG plant was built in the UAE by ADGAS. Currently, he is engaged in the processing of natural gas from all oil fields of the country, which occupies the 7th place in the list of leaders in the extraction of this mineral.

Gas reserves: 8.2 trillion cubic meters

All oil and gas fields are owned by the only state-owned company in the country, Saudi Aramco. It has a monopoly in this area. In total, Saudi Arabia has more than 70 deposits located in 8 regions of the country. Currently, there is an accelerated pace of gas production. This is due to the diversification of the economy. The country, which is one of the leaders in the extraction of this natural resource, plans to increase gas to the world market.
As for the mixed oil and gas fields found at the end of the 20th century, they are located in the oil fields of Kirkuk. Clean deposits, which make up 1/5 of the country's total reserves, are located in the Gavar oil field.

Gas reserves: 9.8 trillion cubic meters

More than half of the country's gas reserves are located in just four states: Texas, Colorado, Wyoming and Oklahoma. Also, about 5% of the mineral is taken from the continental shelf, which is under the jurisdiction of the US government. The main gas producing companies of the country, which occupies the middle of the top leaders in gas production, are: BP, ExxonMobil.

Gas reserves: 17.5 trillion cubic meters

Natural gas is an integral part of the economy of Turkmenistan, which is one of the leaders in the extraction of this mineral. After all, most of the country's reserves are spent on its export. All gas is produced in one field - Galkynysh. According to experts, it contains more than 25 trillion cubic meters.
A few years ago, there was a plan to build the Nabucco pipe. But he died through the fault of the government of the country. And he had high hopes.

Gas reserves: 24.5 trillion cubic meters

All LPG plants are located in the same city of Qatar - Ras Laffan. The first plant was built in 1996, and gas supplies began a year later. Almost 85% of the total gas produced is supplied to the European, Asian and North American markets. This became possible due to the favorable geographical position of the country, which took bronze in the ranking of the states that are leaders in gas production.

Gas reserves: 32.6 trillion cubic meters

Gas export is the most important part of the Russian economy - the leader in production in this area. The natural resource is mined in Western Siberia (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug), in the Urals, in the Lower Volga region and in the North Caucasus. Gas reserves account for more than 60% of all Russian resources.
The natural resource is transported through the Unified Gas Supply System and gas pipeline network, more than 140 thousand km long.
The gas producer is the Gazprom monopoly, which provides 95% of the natural resource from all production in the country.

Gas reserves: 34 trillion cubic meters

All fields are located in the north of the country, which ranks first in gas production in the world, and on the shelf near the Persian Gulf. Foreign (French, Chinese, Belarusian) investors, who came to the country in the late 90s, work on the extraction of natural resources. True, they stopped their activities for a time when sanctions were imposed against Iran, but it seems that now they can return to the market again.
The country's authorities plan to increase gas production to 1 billion cubic meters per day by 2017. All reserves of Iran are 18% of the world.

The article presents current and official data for 2016, based on the statistical information provided by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

Modern conditions of human life cannot be imagined without the presence of natural gas as a fuel. Ecological cleanliness, good thermal conductivity, easy transportability, relatively low price and other positive properties make it indispensable in many areas of human life, industry and power industry.

In fact, the horizon is not so peaceful for the United States. And, as always, when it comes to energy, the economic fundamentals are just as important as the political strategies of the producing countries. When in late November the producing countries gathered in the Custody, notably Saudi Arabia, decided to keep production levels unchanged, everyone thought about hitting the United States.

Oil and gas are the backbone of the Russian economy and provide more than half of the government revenue available each year under the chairmanship of Vladimir Putin. Foreign operators, fearing the consequences that free falling oil could have on the Russian economy, began to reduce their impact on the country: there was an outflow of capital. The defense of the exchange came at a huge cost in terms of national reserves of foreign gold and foreign exchange.

World leaders in natural gas production in the world

The main consumers are geographically located outside the districts. This is due to the geography of the distribution of industry and the electric power industry, as well as the population density in a particular region.

Since the 1970s, the largest volumes of consumption have been in three regions of the globe: North America, Foreign Europe and the CIS countries. Of these regions, only the United States of America and Canada can fully supply themselves with the necessary reserve of the fuel resource. In other regions, large consumption is not at the expense of their own resources - exports from producing countries prevail.

In all this, Europe cannot do more than look at it. Russia is Italy's first gas exporter with a 38% share. However, given the deterioration of relations with Europe, the situation will soon change. Like the United States, Moscow also points to Asia. And in December, he signed twenty trade agreements with India in the energy sector. In addition, Moscow reached an agreement with the Ankara government to increase gas supplies to Turkey by 3 billion cubic meters. M by strengthening the Blue Stream gas pipeline.

Producing countries in the Middle East and North Africa have always played a key role in meeting the demand of consumer countries, especially Asian and European consumers. And, according to the International Energy Agency, it will continue to be of decisive importance: the largest oil and gas reserves are concentrated here, and production costs remain especially low. However, even in this case, the geopolitical setting can change quickly. The Islamic State then occupied large parts of Iraq and Western Syria, restricting crude oil supplies and capturing some of the products on the black market.

The diagram shows the main areas of gas production in the world, individual countries are taken as the area. In total, all indicators are taken as 100%, not counting the rest of the territories, which account for a small amount of development. The unit of measure in the chart is billion cubic meters.

Finally, in some countries, a growing share of production can support domestic consumption at the expense of European buyers. Despite the complexity of the political framework, after the deterioration of relations with Russia, Europe and Italy, they are becoming more and more interested in North Africa. "The energy issue will be more North-South oriented, and this confirms the importance of the relationship between the European Union and Africa, as well as between Italy and Algeria," said Council President Matteo Renzi.

In this context, it increases coal consumption. Despite environmental agreements and proclamations, consumption of this fossil fuel is expected to increase globally. In the future, demand for coal may be driven by the development of gasification for the production of syngas and hydrocarbons, especially in China.

In terms of natural gas production, more than 25% of the world belongs to the United States, which occupy a leading position. The second place is occupied by Russia, which accounts for about 20 percent of the total production of the ten leading regions.

The position of countries in the list of leaders in gas production does not at all mean the leadership of these states in the world fuel trade, that is, exports to other regions of the world. For 2016, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries compiled a rating of states that are export-oriented, of which eight are the leading ones.

Reason for nothing, that is, the announcement of the declared death. In a completely unprecedented comparison between voices opposed to extractive activities produced and amplified by the media, and nothing opposed to it. Almost the question was of local importance, and it did not concern the whole country, its economy, its industry, its growth.

Last but not least, his energy security, a term so overused he considers irrelevant to facts and politics. That's why you can talk about a chronicle of declared death with a seemingly desirable outcome, where everything seems to be playing the hope that a quorum has been reached or not. How to bet on the highest card. If this is achieved, it is almost certainly a trivum victory. For the simple reason that the media, from the mainstream press to public television, disinformation has so far prevailed, arguing for the arguments of opponents without saying anything about others.

About 1,200 billion cubic meters of gas are concentrated in the twenty largest gas fields. The geography of areas that are rich in this natural resource is confined to the territories of the following states of the world:

    1. Russia. 9 of the 20 largest fuel deposits are located on the lands of the Russian Federation. Most of them were opened in the 60-80s of the last century. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, three new large deposits were discovered in Russia, which entered the TOP-20: West Kamchatskoye, Leningradskoye and Rusanovskoye (read also -).
    2. USA. There are 4 largest deposits in the sub-region, which were discovered in the mid-1960s, and began to be intensively used at the end of the 20th century.
    3. Qatar and Iran. There are two rich places here, one of which simultaneously occupies the state lands of Qatar and Iran.
    4. Turkmenistan. Just one rich place that is among the leaders in terms of gas reserves.
    5. China. One large deposit, which was discovered in 2008 and ranked tenth in the TOP-20 states in terms of resource reserves ().
    6. Algeria. The last three lines in the ranking are occupied by regions of Algeria. Hassi Mel is the oldest in the country, discovered back in 1957, but to this day, and the largest in terms of its reserves in Algeria. Two others were opened in 2004 and 2006.

The first place in the list of the largest deposits is occupied by North or South Pars, which is located within two countries at once - Qatar and Iran, as well as in the water area of the Persian oil and gas basin and the Gulf. It was discovered in 1991 and currently its reserves exceed 270 billion cubic meters. The Persian Gulf is a global giant not only in terms of the presence of deposits, but also in terms of production in the Asian oil and gas region.

There is no reason why any citizen of common sense can stand up for the activities proclaimed every day - causing irreparable damage to health, nature, territory, fisheries, tourism and agriculture. Without this - proclaims every day - there is no benefit for the people or the whole country, because, according to the assertion, only the famous multinational oil will win. It doesn't matter that it's all just propaganda, and the fact that there's no rush that proves that oil or methane extraction is detrimental to tourism, fishing, agriculture.

After the opening in 2006 of a new place Galkynysh in Turkmenistan, it took second place in the list of world leaders. It owns 210 billion cubic meters of the resource, the deposits of which are located within the Murghab oil and gas basin.

The third place belongs to the Russian Federation, namely the Urengoy region, confined to the West Siberian oil and gas basin. It was discovered in 1996, in 2016 its reserves amount to 10.2 trillion cubic meters.

As it would be, but it would be more difficult to study the foreign experience of cooperation between the oil industry and French farms, British universities, Norwegian fishermen. But that doesn't mean anything. Apart from opposing each other among the thousands of mysticisms that spread: oil production is anti-historical as it is now the cornerstone of the world's energy supply and penalizes new renewable resources, while it should be known that the former is used almost exclusively in transportation and the latter is in power generation.

The main areas of gas production in the world

Below is a map that reflects the geography of distribution of the largest gas fields throughout the globe. The main deposits of blue fuel are concentrated within the leading countries in terms of annual.

The same can be said about the risks of irresponsible environmental disasters, extracting the case of Macondo in the Gulf of Mexico on our shores. On the other hand, nothing is said about the main issue: preventing the use of domestic oil or methane, preferring to import it, perhaps from Libya, by funding militias in the war; means spending billions of euros abroad rather than allocating them for domestic growth; means helping other businesses at the expense of ours. Because fear, like slander, weighs more than any assurance or denial.

The largest mineral reserves are located within the following deposits on the planet:

    • Gulf of Mexico and Alaska in the United States of America;
    • in the Russian Federation, the southern and northern regions of Western Siberia, the territories of the Far East and Sakhalin, the shelves of two seas - the Barents and Kara;
    • deposits located within Iran, Qatar and Saudi Arabia of the Persian Gulf;
    • the southern regions of Turkmenistan, whose minerals are exported to three countries - Poland, Ukraine and Hungary;
    • Algeria and Nigeria are the only sub-regions in Africa with natural gas deposits. The fuel here is of high quality, in which there is no high content of harmful impurities and slags;
    • in the North Sea of Norway. The volumes of natural gas deposits are considered the largest in Europe;
    • on the lands of Canada there are several largest areas within the island of Newfoundland of the northern provinces, including the shelf of the Western Canadian Basin;
    • in China, the main areas of gas production are concentrated in the Tari Basin

OPEC statistics indicate that with the growing consumption of blue fuel on the planet, the remaining reserves will only last for the next 65 years. In all state deposits, there are no more than 180 trillion cubic meters of combustible matter. More than 120 trillion - fuel reserves that have not yet been explored, since they lie at a very great depth in the earth's crust and are practically not available for global production.

Better think about the following: what will happen if the referendum passes. First: there would be a full political and instrumental reading of the referendum answer, no matter what questions were put before the voters. Secondly, because a victory without triv will have the same consequences as nuclear energy: the destruction of an entire industry - electromechanical, in which tens of tens of thousands of employees, a large number of engineers, excellent production skills, scientific and academic knowledge are among the first in the world.

Everything is destroyed: factories, enterprises, schools, professionalism. With the victory of "no-triva" we would have the same result: the destruction of another Italian industry, not so much the mining industry, which would have no difficulty in moving its investments abroad, but that which produces goods and services for it. An industry that dates back to the unity of Italy, which is divided into hundreds of companies gathered in oil service areas, especially in Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Abruzzo, which boasts a highly regarded technological specialization, with the exception of Italy.

We present to your attention a list of countries producing and exporting natural gas in large quantities.
    10. Algiers.

Yes, the referendum will end its final end. This is a real game at stake: although they are more likely to ignore the general indifference and irresponsibility of those who should look at the interests of the country than their electoral dividends. America's energy independence has flipped the geopolitical balance of the world and pushed oil prices down, driving up supply, eclipsing demand during the dark recession years.

The Shale Gas Revolution The miracle of the stars and stripes is the result of a "revolutionary revolution" at least twenty years ago and realized through the massive use of fracture or hydraulic fracturing techniques. It was Texas engineer George Mitchell who, in the late 1980s, managed to make economically possible extraction of "shale gas", natural gas trapped in the microporosity of tight shale formations, by combining two methods: horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing, which subsequently proved to be effective and in unconventional oil production from fields.

    9. Nigeria.

This process can be carried out either by exploiting existing wells, by extending their length, or by creating new ones, but the huge potential goes hand in hand with costs that far exceed traditional mine production. Ecological problem. From water used in significant quantities even in where there is always a scarce resource, such as Texas, where aquifers are already at risk of depletion. Another problem is pollution: when it starts producing oil and gas, it also rises to the surface with polluted waters of natural chemicals in the soil or is added.

    8. Venezuela. Gas reserves: 5.6 trillion cubic meters

The country's gas reserves account for 2.9% of the world's. But most of them are gas associated with oil. Most of the deposits are located in Norte De Pario (an area north of Trinidad and Tobago). But the gas sector in Venezuela is not very developed, which holds back its development. The main gas pipelines are owned by PDVSA GAS.

Not only is there a risk of poisoning the aquifers that serve the inhabitants of the affected area if they are too close to the wells. So much so that in Pennsylvania it is no longer possible to look for gas and oil under state forests - two-thirds are located above the Marseille shale - they are not even buried from neighboring private lands, as in the golden age. Bad vibrations All environmental pollution and health risks are reported as the main frequency of earthquakes in fissure regions. All of this is affecting industries, forcing them to invest more in plant safety and gradually shrinking coverage.

    7. UAE. Gas reserves: 6.1 trillion cubic meters

Most of the country's gas reserves are located in its capital, Dubai. Oil fields are located there, there is a gas reserve "Khuff". In 1977, the first LPG plant was built in the UAE by ADGAS. It is currently processing natural gas from all oil fields in the country.

With the price of oil below the psychological threshold of $30, oil production is no longer convenient. Weak traders have left the market or joined big companies, joining capital and above all technology to compete with big companies and try to lower production costs. The supply does not drop because the efficiency of production processes has increased compared to the past due to the drilling site, for example, which allows one number of wells to be drilled from one location.

Or "rephrasing", i.e. hydraulically "re-fracturing" well-fractured wells - an operation that allows a 100% increase in production at a very low cost. Not to mention that "unconventional" wells are immune from the "temporary" factor: they do not need years to reach peak production and can be launched in a few weeks or, if necessary, stop waiting for better prices.

    6. Saudi Arabia. Gas reserves: 8.2 trillion cubic meters

All oil and gas fields are owned by the only state-owned company in the country - Saudi Aramco. It has a monopoly in this area. Leading countries in terms of natural gas production

The leaders in terms of gas production are the USA, Russia, Iran, Qatar, Canada, China, Norway, Saudi Arabia. Arabia, Algeria, Turkmenistan and Indonesia. These countries account for more than 70% of world production.

Modern conditions of human life can hardly be imagined without the presence of natural gas. Natural gas is what makes our life more comfortable. Even without listing the numerous positive qualities of gas, such as environmental friendliness, easy transportability, and others, every smart and sane person understands how important this product is and why there has been a struggle for its production for decades.

In today's political and economic environment, the "resource" issue is on the agenda more than ever. After the lifting of sanctions against Iran, several more large sellers appeared on the gas market, which completely “turned the game around”. But the dynamics is such that almost every day the participants in this gas race change their status. Therefore, monitoring the most up-to-date information, in this case, presented in our rating of countries by gas production, will be of interest not only to specialists, but also to ordinary people.
